This list was created by Stephen H Koontz

Ruffalo isn't a bad actor but he is far from great which makes his recent run at being considered a respectable and revered thespian is ridiculous.

His range is weak, very weak. And this isn't just in his reference to the looks of his characters.

If you are a big fan of Ruffalo, I'm sorry to shatter the glass for you, but perhaps you will be better off...

Enjoy!

I like him, but this is pretty hilarious. Where is his Foxcatcher look?

i disagree i think he is a preety good actor, the poor man cant anything about his face after all he was born with it XD but i can literally do this list with any other actor, its just a question of choosing very specific screeshots, its not really representative of your opinion...but it is funny, and i respect you opinion after all, to each their own.

If you read the description I'm not saying he is a bad actor I'm just saying he isn't versatile and he shouldn't be considered a great actor. A great actor has range and part of that range is the ability to get lost in a character.

Yes, you could make a list with other actors, but not that many actually, or at least not with the ones who are revered, such as Ruffalo. There are actors, like Brad Pitt, who are instantly recognizable, but Pitt at least finds a range of characters to play and his look varies. Then there are people like Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp, Cate Blanchett Melissa Leo, who are great chameleons of film.

And as far as screen shots, I spent very little time finding those for each film. They were easy to find.

I like Mark Ruffalo!
Mark has not the most dramtic facialexpressions, thats for sure, but they are there, doesnt need that much all the time to be a good actor.
But I get it! I agree with BAMF

A few raves for Ruffalo's work, from people who know a lot more about acting than you do:

A fine example of traditional American storytelling lined with full-bodied performances, pic is especially notable for giving Mark Ruffalo the kind of complete role this subtle, instinctive actor has long deserved yet too seldom gets. Ruffalo gets to dominate a movie that has serious notions on its mind and is blessed with a powerful sense of place…. Ruffalo’s face reflects Brian’s sheer terror at how life in Southie has changed during his prison time, with the final act a well-rendered mini-drama entailing his difficulties staying straight. - “Variety” review of “What Doesn’t Kill You”

Because Mr. Ruffalo approaches his roles like a character actor instead of a star — he slips into his films, doesn’t take ownership of them — it can be easy to take him for granted. We shouldn’t. Mr. Ruffalo is one of the greatest actors working in movies right now, and each performance is a gift. As he often does, he plays his character with such palpable sensitivity and empathy that you understand not just what Brian is going through at each moment but also the larger implications of these moments. Brian wants to do right by his wife and two young sons, to be a good and decent man, to keep his home and dignity. But he’s trapped in a world not of his making, in a life not fully of his design. His face is an open wound; his heart, too.

- New York Times review of “What Doesn’t Kill You”

It should be clear that Mark Ruffalo (Foxcatcher, The Kids are All Right, The Normal Heart) is one of the best actors on the planet. He proves it again in "Infinitely Polar Bear"… Refusing to soften the edges when Cam is off his meds, Ruffalo is a powerhouse. He and Forbes craft an indelibly intimate portrait of what makes a family when the roles of parent and child are reversed. - Peter Travers/Rolling Stone

It’s hard not to shower praise on Ruffalo, who brings the proper amount of edge and energy to the role and rocks the heck out of his combative scenes. But he’s also magnetic in the quieter moments, especially when he’s tenderly caring for Felix, who is wasting away before his eyes. It’s then we see that his character’s fury is fueled by a deep-rooted fear of loneliness. - The Mercury News on "The Normal Heart"
If “In the Cut” contains a breakout performance, it’s from Ruffalo, whose Malloy owes more than just a name to Marlon Brando’s character in “On the Waterfront.” Until now, Ruffalo’s most memorable turn was as the prodigal brother in “You Can Count on Me”; here, he takes a dizzying 180-degree turn as a sexy, slightly dangerous bad boy – who may or may not be a good guy. Even when he’s delivering the worst dialogue of “In the Cut” – and some of it is admittedly appalling – Ruffalo maintains an electrifying, genuinely erotic charge. With a 1970s-era mustache and mumbling elocution, he’s unsettlingly convincing as a man whose sexual magnetism lies not in leading-man good looks but in his ability to portray himself as both a protector and, if the situation warrants, a predator. - Washington Post

“Mr. Ruffalo’s star-making performance deserves to be added to the list of charismatic, grownup lost boys that includes the Marlon Brando of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ and the Jack Nicholson of 'Easy Rider.’ - New York Times
