One Song A Week - 2012
Week 2-5: January 9- February 5
I listened a lot to the whole album for a while, but I think I started in January. I also listened a lot to this other band called Smoke Signals (which isn't on listal), which have some of the same members as The Queen Killing Kings. I first heard this song in September 2011, but I didn't buy the album until January so I listened a lot to it then as well: Martine's rating:
Week 6: February 6-12
I was going to an Ed Sheeran concert March 2. so I was getting ready :) Week 7: February 13-19
Still getting ready. I listened a lot to the whole album, but this is my favourite :) Martine's rating:
Week 8: February 20-27
The whole EP. Little Bird is my favourite, but I'd already listened a lot to that earlier, so this week I put Homeless instead :) Week 10-12: 5-25 March
Passenger was one of the supporting acts on the Ed Sheeran concert, and I listened to him a lot after this concert, though mainly this album, but also some other songs like: Martine's rating:
Week 13: March 26 - April 1
What can I say, everyone has heard it. According to Spotify, this was the week I started listening to it. Sadly it's the only song I like on the album (and no, I haven't even gotten tired of this song yet :) That might be because I rarely listen to the radio, so I choose whatever I'll listen to myself, and I don't overplay it) Week 14: April 2- 8
I saw Tangled, I liked the soundtrack. End of story. Week 15: April 9-15
I heard talk of her horrendous SNL performance and checked it out. I thought it was horrible. Then I heard this song a bit later, and didn't realize it was the same song until the radio dj mentioned it :P Week 17: April 23-29
Rediscovered this after someone sang it on the norwegian version of The Voice: Week 18: April 30- May 6
I've pretty much listened to this for a year straight (and still do), though this is the time I finally got around to the rest of the album :D Martine's rating:
Week 20: May 14-21
I would say One Direction is a guilty pleasure, but it's not. I listen to what I want to listen to, and I don't care who sings it, or how cheesy it is. It may not be the type of music I search for, but when I stumble upon it, I might like it, and I'll listen to it. Sidenote: They have good stylists :D Week 21: May 21-27
I saw the movie, and loved the soundtrack, especially this song Martine's rating:
Week 22: May 28- June 3
A couple weeks before it was "We Are Young", now the rest of the album Week 23: June 4-10
I spent the whole week doing nothing but reading, and when I read I often listen to classical music. This is probably my favourite classical piece of all time Week 24: June 11-17
Still doing pretty much nothing but reading. I've always loved the soundtrack to Amelie, which is what got me to listen to classical music in the first place. Martine's rating:
Week 25: June 18-24
I actually added this to spotify in January, but this is when I really started listening to it Martine's rating:
Week 26: June 25- July 1
This song makes me wanna dance my ass off ;P Week 27: July 2-8
I first heard this song on Grey's Anatomy in season 6, and started listening to the rest of the album earlier this year, but I put it this week because this was the first time I really listened through the whole album several times in a day. (I usually stopped when the covers started, because I was a bit skeptical to them, but now I love those as well) Martine's rating:
Week 28: July 9-15
This weeks song, was written by Jackson C. Frank, but I listened to the cover by John Hawkes, which I heard in the movie Martha Marcy May Marlene, and absolutely fell in love with, and put on repeat for ages :) Week 29: July 16-22
I had a sudden urge to listen to Joe Le Taxi by Vanessa Paradis, and before I had time to find a new song, Spotify played the next song after which was this, and I've been listening to it over and over for days (pretending I know how to sing in french) Week 30-31: July 23 - August 5
22. July was the one year anniversary of the massacre in Oslo, and at a memorial concert, one of the survivors sang a cover of this, which made me want to listen to it (I had heard it before, without paying any attention to it) I also went to a Bruce Springsteen concert, and I've never listened much to him, so I discovered/realized it were his songs that I had heard before, and I listened a bit to some of his songs the rest of the week. Week 32: August 6-11
I just finished a list about 60s music, and was working on one about the 50s (which I never finished...) Week 33: August 12-18
This was the week before university started, and it was like a type of initiation week... Where we party all week. They played this really, really annoying song EVERYWHERE we went. Week 34: 19-25 August
I was planning on going to a Kent concert, and listened a lot to their newest album, as well as some old songs, like this one, which I had completely forgotten. Week 35-36: August 26- September 9
Nina Nesbitt was one of the supporting acts at the Ed Sheeran concert in March, but I didn't start really listening to her music before now. She also released a new single later in September, and I was still listening a lot to her at that point. Week 37-39: September 10-23
I first heard one of his songs, "American Stitches", on Grey's Anatomy a while back. Then my sister met him, and invited him to come play in our town, so I started listening to his music again. Week 40: September 24-30
I love every single song I've heard by this guy, and listen to aall five of his albums lot, so I could probably put one of them at pretty much any week this autumn. Week 41: October 1-7
A norwegian singer-songwriter, and a norwegian rapper, who just happen to be cousins, made a song together. They're singing in my dialect :P Week 41: October 8-14
I was discussing with some friends the fact that I've only heard three of this bands songs, even though they're one of the most popular bands in Norway. Two of those songs were from the first album, so I decided to check out the rest of the album. Week 42: October 15-21
Finally went to his concert, and heard some of his new songs, as this album was released this week. Week 43: October 22-28
Last week I saw this documentary, and I liked the music. Week 44: October 29 - November 4
This is probably the most norwegian artist ever. My grandpa loves him :D This is a song about grandpas Week 46: November 12-18
Week 47-48: November 19- December 2
I've loved P!nk ever since Family Portrait, but for some reason I didn't know she released a new album this year, until she performed at the AMAs, and since that I've been listening endlessly to her new album (as of late december) Week 49-52: December
For me, Christmas starts December 1, which means Christmas music!!! :D (Did I mention I love Christmas) Every year it's the same music, but I always find a song that I've heard, but never really listened to. This year it was these two: |
