1. Cinderella Man (2005)
One of my all time favorite movies. It's so wonderfully done, that I forget it's a sports movie. This guy did whatever it took to support his family during the Great Depression. It really appeals to my emotions as a father. It just makes you want to be a better person.

2. Catch Me If You Can (2002)
"Wow',is all I can say. Frank Abagnale came and spoke at my school a few years ago. He was amazing to listen to. Felt like a boy listening to his grandfather's old war stories. The life he led was just so unbelievable. The movie really didn't even do it justice. They really should have made a mini-series instead. There is only so much you can put in a two hour movie. He spent years as a doctor and lawyer, not just a few months. That's ridiculous!

3. Miracle (2004)
It truly was a Miracle. Considered to be the biggest upset(At least in the U.S)in sports history. Every time I watch this movie I cry tears of joy. I love hockey, and I wish that I could have had the chance to play it. Just a great underdog story.

4. Conviction (2010)
People like this are true heroes. What she went through to get her brother out of prison is awe-inspiring.

5. Invictus (2009)
Nelson Mandela is one of the greatest people to walk the Earth. If they made a movie about him chewing gum, I'd be the first in line.

6. Schindler's List (1993)
I don't even know what to say about this movie. Unbelievable what this guy did for people he DIDN'T know. True hero in what to me is probably the most pivotal time in world history.

7. Charlie Wilson's War (2007)
This was a very eye opening movie for me. Really points out the dangers of gov't(as if we needed a movie for that).

8. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Although loosely based on the Niland brothers of WWII, it's still a good story. Another movie that appeals to me as a father. I just couldn't imagine. No parent should outlive their child, and it's made even worse by war. So, so stupid.

9. Blow (2001)
This movie is on here strictly for entertainment purposes. Even if it was a fictional story, it would have been a good movie. It is a great story, but not one of those that makes me think or feel something emotionally.

10. Hotel Rwanda (2004)
Disturbing movie. I hate watching the news. Stories like this remind me why. I'm sooooo guilty of turning a blind eye to the problems of the world. No matter how bad you think you have it, someone out there has it worse. Always remember that.

Really good story made better by one of the best performances I've ever seen. That was even Foxx playing the piano. Amazing.

12. Finding Neverland (2004)
Two of my favorite actors in this movie, no way I couldn't put it on here. I was really surprised at how good it was.

13. Alpha Dog (2006)
Speaking of surprises. I was hesitant on seeing this movie just because Timberlake was in it. This movie was actually pretty interesting and entertaining. To top it all off, it really pissed me off by the end. I mean that in a good way. I knew nothing of the story and was blown away by the ending. I can't believe this happened.

16. The Last King of Scotland (2006)
I hate that there are people like this in the world. Moreover, there is nothing we can do about it. It will keep happening again and again. My life is truly wonderful. I hope yours is too.

17. Breach (2007)
The least entertaining movie on here. To me though, I put myself in Phillipe's shoes and it made it so suspenseful for me. I was shaking for him. Chris Cooper is one of my favorite actors.

18. The Bank Job (2008)
A crazy good story that took an unexpected dark turn. I have to say, I saw this movie for one reason: Statham. For some reason, I'll see any movie he or Mark Wahlberg does. I think I just like his overall coolness. It doesn't seem fake like say....Steven Seagal or Jean-Claude Van Damme. I don't care for them at all.

Great performances by the actors. Nixon, what a douche.

20. Milk (2008)
Great movie. I associate with this one because judging someone on their sexual preference, to me, is like racism, it's just plain useless. If you have time to dislike someone because they are gay, then you have way too much time on your hands.
From Superior Genes's rating:

A movie that is a true story, of even loosely based on a true story, is immediately ten times better. Ok, over exaggeration. This is a list of my favorite to date.

I've only seen a few of these, but some I plan on getting around to. I like how you've commented on them without going into detail...saves someone like me from having something spoiled, and yet anyone who's seen these I'm sure would know what you're talking about (as I did on the ones I have seen).

If you haven't yet, you should check out David Fincher's Zodiac. I thought it was very well-done.
