Note: It is this movie that really started the all craze about Judd Apatow. Honestly, the gap between Steve Carell and Catherine Keener is not that huge but still she is way more sexy than him. Or maybe I don't fall for Steve Carell charms...
P.S.: I wasn't sure but the giraffe confirmed this. Seth Rogen & Elizabeth Banks hook up in 40 Year Old Virgin. You only see them together in the wedding scene at the end for a brief moment. Therefore I can't find a picture of it.
Note: Now, this movie is the archetypal example of what this list is about. I mean, I think it was a very funny movie but check this pic, do you really think that there is any possible chance that, in "the real world", those 2 above will end up together? I don't think so...
Note: Personally, this is my favorite movie coming out the Apatow factory. I thought it was really funny and I could definitely relate with the main character. However, the romantic relationship between Seth Rogen and Amber Heard was definitely not realistic and not the strongest point of this movie...
Note: I wasn't sure if I should put "Funny People" on this list for several reasons. First of all, I haven't seen it yet so I can't really judge it. Then, is Adam Sandler really a nerd/geek/weirdo/whatever in this movie? I thought he was something like a famous comedian which doesn't make him really fit to be on this list. Anyway, I leave it here until I watched this flick then we'll see.
Note: Even though, it takes place in the Prehistory, we're still dealing with the same issues here. You can feel that the hype about Judd Apatow is not going strong anymore as this movie was a critical and financial flop.
First of all, I want to make it clear to everyone that I do like most of Judd Apatow's movies. Most of the time, they are funny and entertaining and provide a good combination of raunchy humor and pure romantic-comedy sweetness. Furthermore, back in the 80's and 90's, most (all?) of the lead actors were separated in 2 categories, the first one being the pretty faces like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt and the second one being the tough guys like Bruce Willis. No offense to Tom, Brad and Bruce but even though I enjoy their movies, I almost never can relate to their characters because I'm neither a pretty face or a tough guy. But Apatow brought some changes... Indeed, he put the focus on the nerds, geeks, weirdos and even just the plain regular guy and I love him for that. What a great achievement!
However, his movies are far from being perfect. The thing that most bother me are the wifes/girlfriends/love interests/whatever of the nerdy lead characters. I just started to relate to this guy on the screen who just felt so real when suddenly some gorgeous bimbo comes on the screen and make out with the nerdy lead! Welcome in Fantasyland... I understand that you get to see on your screen every nerd wet dream but still, it doesn't feel right!
I know Apatow produced Year One, but I wouldn't count it as one of his movies especially since Harold Ramis wrote & directed it. But then that eliminates Sarah Marshall & Superbad too. Hmm. I know you did Funny People in your Sandler list, but it belongs here too.
Anyway, yes Seth Rogen & Elizabeth Banks hook up in 40 Year Old Virgin. I think you only see them together in the wedding scene at the end for a brief moment. Not surprised therefore that you can't find a picture of it.
This exact kinda thing is addressed directly in She's Out of My League, which I thought for sure Judd Apatow had a hand in somewhere, but turns out he didn't. But it did start Jay Baruchel so that almost counts...
@blackjack9, I have't seen Funny People, so I can't tell but Jason Segel was definitely nerdy if you compare him with a more standard Tom-Cruise-like lead actor for example.

Interesting list idea!
