THE MOST AMAZING HORROR FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Jeepers Creepers got me into horror and it was a heck of a way to start. I absolutely adore the atmosphere and the Creeper himself. It's packed to the brim with chilling scenes and creepy moments that elict sheer joy every time I watch it. I can't stress enough how awesome it is.

Eden Lake (2008)

Came quite close to stealing first place from Jeepers Creepers but although it's an awesome film, nothing can compare to JC.

Full of tear jerking emotional scenes and pulse pounding suspense scenes, Eden Lake is not only a superb horror filn, but an amazing character study with nearly pitch perfect cinematography.

The Mist (2007)

Another emotion shattering journey into the human psych, the real terror dosn't come from the towering monsters outside the super market, but the human beings inside the store who are being pushed to the very brink of their sanity. By the time the end comes, the final shot is all the more unbearable as we see the awful world we reside in portrayed by one simple event.

Cube (1997)

The most character driven horror film I've ever seen. We never really learn what the Cube is and I perfer it that way. Filled with an impending and infectious feeling of dread and loaded with charming loveable characters, it's hard to forget this masterpiece.

The Faculty (1998)

Quite possibly the most intelligent and well thought out teen horror out there. Before Robert Rodriugez started making crap, he made this masterpiece. Full of likeable characters and a good sense of black humor.

Still the most incredible zombie movie ever made and on all accounts better than the original. No zombie film has ever reached this level of human emotional depth.

Another favorite teen slasher and still the best in the long running series. The concept of using death as the killer was fresh and exucuted well. The deaths here are also, still the most carefully planned and exacuted in the series.

Urban Legend (1998)

Another favorite teen horror of mine. Quite simliar to IKWYDLS, Urban Legend's plot was daring and exucuted perfectly. The atmosphere also made it feel like a perffect horror flick for Halloween.

The atmosphere lends a chilling and mysterious feeling and the characters are genuinely likeable. Each death and chase scene is perfectly orchastrated, utilizing the enviroment and mood. Although the ending is weak, the rest is simply awesome.

Joy Ride (2001)

Pulse pounding and incredibly suspenseful with loveable characters and a truly chilling antagonist, Joy Ride is not for the faint of heart. There's no gore, but who needs it when the suspense factor is this good?

Sorority Row (2009)

Another worthy teen effort that brought back the 90's style of slashers. The characters are likeable but the killer and his fiercely unique weapon and killing methods steal the show.

Cold Prey (2006)

It was nice to have a horror film where I didn't want to see ANY of the characters die. That just makes the rest of the film all the more unbearably intense. This one is a real classic.

One of the few horror flicks I've watched recently that was purely amazing. It's atmosphere was awesome and the suspense scenes were perfectly exacuted. Even folks I know who hate horror films loved this one.

I've never seen the original (can't wait to) but this remake I'm sure is alot better. Chucking out the cartoonish Freddy we know from the classics and replacing him with an even freakier dude was a wise choice, but I REALLY love the new backstory. I'm a sucker for emotional scenes in horror films and this was packed with them. I also think this movie had the best CGI effects since Jurassic Park.

After scouring through countless racks of horror films and suffering through many awful ones these are the 20 that have remained my very favorites. Mere words cannot express my adoration for these 20 films and I firmly believe that every horror fan should see them.

Other than ANOES (2010), which I find inferior to the original, I love your list!

You really should see ANOES (1984). Freddy is more evil. Nancy is believable and a fighter and there are no bad CGI effects! While Jackie Earle Haley is a great actor, Rooney Mara admits to phoning in her performance. It's all opinion though!
