Absol
Disaster Pokemon

Starting off the list is a Pokemon that I always use for catching other Pokemon. With a really cool design and the ability to learn False Swipe and Thunderwave, Absol, along with my False Swipe/Foresight Weavile, are my Pokemon bounty hunters. In battles, it's a decent sweeper, with decent speed and an exceptionally high attack power, and with the addition of its Mega Evolution, its special attack goes up as well.

Lapras
Transport Pokemon

Lapras is like the den mother of my Pokemon collection. It has a kind, serene looking design and probably the Pokemon that I enjoy surfing with. Not to mention that in X and Y, it's the only Pokemon with its own unique Surf model. Battle wise, it's a somewhat decent Pokemon in terms of bulkiness, with high HP and balanced defense stats. With a dual Water/Ice typing, it can be quite a force whenever it uses Surf and Ice Beam.

Eevee
Evolution Pokemon

Eevee is the most enjoyable Pokemon to raise because of its unique ability. This Pokemon's ability is that it can evolve into different types, with each having different methods of evolution. After I've bred 8 Eevees by using the breeding machine that is Ditto, evolving them is like a side quest of its own.

Raichu
Mouse Pokemon

While everyone fawns over the series mascot because it's cute and what not, I always had a soft spot for its final evolution. The first time I saw Raichu was in the Pokemon anime, where it just kicked the crap out of Pikachu, and it was pretty badass. Ever since then, I've had a Raichu in my team for the majority of the generations. This Pokemon is a surprisingly good sweeper, with a good speed and its ability to mix in strong physical and special attacks, compensating for a really weak defence.

Lucario
Aura Pokemon

While Lapras is the den mother of my Pokemon collection, Lucario is my wise overseer. It has a badass design and is one of Generation IV's best sweepers. While his dual type Fighting/Steel is like a double edged blade, with a resistance to most types but weak against three of the most common offensive types, his high speed and attack makes him devastating, and with a diverse movepool, he can counter most of his weaknesses.

Pokémon Platinum - Nintendo DS
Dragonite
Dragon Pokemon

The very first Dragon Pokemon and the Pokemon that you must have in your Generation I team. What I love about Dragonite is the irony. It's ironic that a chubby, goofy looking Pokemon is a bulky, hard hitter. While other Dragon Pokemon like Salamence made it kind of inferior for a few generations, it returns to grace after gaining the Multiscale ability, making it bulkier than it has ever been, while retaining its astonishing attack stat, good overall defence, and a huge movepool.

Krookodile
Intimidation Pokemon

I wasn't expecting this Pokemon to be on my main team, let alone on this list, but as I chugged along Pokemon Black, I slowly became more attached to Krookodile. It's design is one of the best I've seen in the roster and it's also one of my favourite physical sweepers. With the Moxie ability, which raises its attack after defeating a Pokemon, a good attack and speed, add that with a STAB on Earthquake and Crunch, it can wipe out an entire team by itself.

Pokémon Black Version - Nintendo DS
Blaziken
Blaze Pokemon

When it comes to starters, for me, they are usually in support roles, sometimes not even being used that often. That is until Blaziken came along. This Pokemon was the leader of my Generation III team, and I've always sought after it when the other Generations went by. Along with a great design, it is probably one of the strongest starters I've ever seen, with Infernape and Greninja beating it slightly. It has terrifying attack stats and the Speedboost ability lets it strike first with devastating physical fire and fighting moves, making it quite hard to counter against.

Garchomp
Mach Pokemon

There's only one word I could say about this Pokemon. DAMN. Garchomp is an absolute powerhouse. This Pokemon is so overpowered that, whenever I put it on my team, it almost always outmatches them by overall stats, even if it's below 20 levels. Garchomp's overpowered-ness is what makes it such a fun Pokemon to raise and use in battle. While it can be predictably countered with an ice attack, its ridiculous attack and speed, surprising bulk, good movepool, added STAB on Earthquake and Dragon attacks, and its Mega Evolution raising its overall base stats from 600 to 700, makes it a near unstoppable force. With its stat boosting abilities when there's a sandstorm, I always pair Garchomp with the next Pokemon on the list...

Tyranitar
Armour Pokemon

Ty-motherfucking-ranitar is how I pronounce this Pokemon's name. When I was just a kid playing on Pokemon Gold on the Gameboy Colour, I immediately knew that there is something special about this level 25 Larvitar that I caught from Mt. Silver. After painstaking grind, it finally evolved into one of the most awesome Pokemon I have ever put in my team. As the generations passed, it has become somewhat lesser as its dual Rock/Dark type makes it very easy to counter. Nevertheless, it never fails to be on my team line-up. It has a great attack stat, has really good defences, and has an amazing movepool. Its Sand Stream ability boosts his Rock STAB while doing damage to the opponent, as well as making it the perfect partner for Garchomp as it activates its Sand Veil and Sand Force abilities.

Part 2

Part 1 of my Pokemon Trilogy. Pokemon X and Y has been out for a few weeks, and I'm impressed at how varied it is when it comes to what Pokemon you can find. I got nostalgic so I'm gonna list off my favourite Pokemon. I love these Pokemon for many different reasons, from their design, battle prowess, or their certain gimmicks. Just my one rule NO LEGENDARIES because I don't use Legendary Pokemon. I'll probably make a separate list for them.
