This list includes movies which have deeply impressed me. Many of them are often considered unquestionable masterpieces and some of them appear frequently in other favorite film lists.

I finally recognised how dated this list was and made some major changes. The order is a bit more lenient now. The layout has also been changed to ease your browsing. Still in progress.

Btw. what the hell is inland empire about? i tried to watch it 2 times, first time i watched it 90 min before i fell asleep the 2. time i watched it 130 min before i turned it off, i have no idea what this movie is about :D i guess ill have to watch the remaining 30 min to find out
Inland Empire seems to be a film that really divides opinions, not just between mainstream-viewers and elitists. It's pretty easy to imagine that to some people this film will always be nothing but a terrible borefest (yet I can't really identify with that thought). I wouldn't say it is in the first place about understanding what the film is all about. Personally significant films have always a certain feeling that it is possible to identify with. Like many of Lynch's other works, Inland Empire just happens to work for me. Of course it is a must to concentrate, as it always happens to be.
But to answer your question: Inland Empire is about a woman in trouble with her sense of reality. Hopefully you're not annoyed but I can't find a reason to limit its subject more.
