What about Elsa Lanchester in her role of the Bride of Frankenstein? She also played Mary Shelley in the movie. It's certainly one of the more iconic hairstyles of the era. =P
actually these women, with the exception of audrey and maybe lauren, are exactly the same as today's. saying they aren't is a bunch of crap fed to you by the media (who loves today's stars so I have no idea why they say that). in fact they were almost WORSE, having divorcses, affairs, addictions, etc. left and right and getting away with it scot-free. they also wore even more makeup because with black and white movies you had to, and the movie companies usually required it of them (along with the corsets, padding, pushup bras, etc. which is why you think you see more "curvy" women back then than today, when in reality you are not).
my neighbor's half-sister makes $70 hourly on the internet. She has been laid off for five months but last month her paycheck was $17706 just working on the internet for a few hours. Here's the site to read more NuttyRich.com
Wtf, are you so jealous of these old celebs that you have to insult them so bitterly? They had more "divorcses" back then? Wow, I didn't know you had all the statistics and numbers of past affairs and addictions! And I didn't know that having personal problems made someone a bad person.
Although classic stars obviously weren't perfect and weren't as graceful or fancy as we thought they were, they still do retain a magical air of quality and taste about them. Past actresses actually had a little something called personality and a screen presence. Now there's just one bimbo after another, with no discernible originality or flavor at all. I find it distressing that all it takes to be an actress nowadays is to have an attractive face and a good body.
