Notes: I used to play this at the friend's house and I thought it was awesome. I love the movie and this game just followed this great adventure. A great game.
Notes: Same as above, I used to play this at the friend's house and I thought it was awesome. The animation may seem awkward nowadays but back then it was quite revolutionary. A very nice game.
Notes: It was also one of the first game released on the Super Nintendo. The graphics, animation and music were very good. You could really feel the speed. A very fun game.
Notes: I spent hours on this one. Nowadays, we are very familiar with the concept but, back then, it was really new. A great fun and my favorite mario kart version.
Notes: Back then, I bought the Japanese version for 100 euros because I didn't want to wait for the European version. A great classic and it remains one of my favorite games 16 years later.
Notes: I guess everyone has forgotten this game but I didn't! A great adventure with a revolutionary animation. The only low point is that it was too short!
Notes: Similar to "Out of This world" in style, I was more a fan of "Out of this world" but Flashback was the most famous one. It indeed had better graphics and animation and the adventure was quite fascinating aswell.
Notes: it was not as good as the arcade game but it was so much fun. Maybe my favorite multiplayer game. You could have 4 players playing alltogether (something completely new at the time).
Notes: Another great multiplayer game. Difficult to chose between this one, Mario kart and NBA Jam for the best multiplayer game. As NBA Jam, you could have 4 players. Loads of fun.
Notes: It was released in the last years of the Super Nintendo and they basically gave everything they got. Back then, it was really revolutionary with its gorgeous 3D graphics and animation. It was a very fun game and I spent many hours on this one.
Notes: Back then, I was a fan of Sonic. I guess I'm still a fan of Sonic who is, in my opinion, much more fun than Mario. It's a pity that Sega lost the "Video game" war and don't make any console anymore. Back in the 90's, it was unthinkable to imagine a Sega game on a Nintendo platform or a game combining Mario and Sonic.
Notes: I first played this at a friend's house and years later I got myself a Megadrive with those 3 games. Sega improved the music/graphics/animation and the game was still very addictive. This time, you could even have 2 players playing at the same time.
Notes: Back in those days, they didn't make exactly the same game on all the platforms. The Super Nintendo Aladdin was pretty good but this one was just great. I wished I played it more because it had gorgeous graphics and animation.
Notes: Finally I traded the good old Super Nintendo for a brand new Playstation (later A.K.A. Playstation 1). My first game was Ridge Racer. Even if there was only 1 track (so cheap...), I just loved this game and spent hours playing it.
Notes: I'm pretty sure everybody forgot this game but it was so f*cking awesome! I will never forget the sight of the huge "360!" on your screen meaning you just crashed your opponent and got the maximum points. There was a sequel which was much more realistic but not as fun as this one. A great game.
Notes: A huge classic. A beautiful game which really gave you the feeling you were floating in the air. Definitely an original driving game. Loved it and spent hours trying to manage the tricky controls.
Notes: My favorite Playstation game. I spent hours playing this with my brother in the dark. The mood was just great. I finished this one, number 2 and number 3 aswell. The sequels were nice and better on a technical level but my favorite remains the 1st one because the focus was more on the mood than the action/shooting stuff.
Notes: I didn't spend much time playing this one because I was kind of losing interest in video games back then (girls/party/drinking/smoking shit...you know the drill...). But this game was beautiful and was such a great adventure.
Notes: Back in those days, my little brother decided to switch the good old Playstation 1 for a Nintendo 64. I was never really happy with this choice and the only 2 games I remember really enjoying on this machine were GoldenEye and Mario Kart 64. I used to play Goldeneye with 3 of my buddies and we had a awesome time, killing each other...
Notes: There is a big debat about which Mario Kart is the best, the one on the Super Nintendo or the one on the Nintendo 64 ? Difficult to choose, but there was a definite improvement and it was the possibility to have 4 players playing at the same time! Like Goldeneye, I used to play this with my 3 buddies and we had a blast...
Notes: I know, it looks pretty ugly but it is actually a really awesome game. It is a rather unknown game nowadays but it is actually one of the best tennis games ever conceived with some amazing controls.
Notes: We played this at a friend's house a couple of nights. It was quite difficult to find your way but the story was just fascinating and I just love the mood of the game.
Notes: I played it only a couple of times on Dreamcast but I was completely hooked right away. I may buy a Dreamcast one day just to play this game all day long. My favorite sport game.
Notes: One of my favorite games of all the time. Even though I never owned a Playstation 2, I played this game like crazy until I finished it. A great game with a lot of liberty. You could do whatever you wanted for a while and then get back to the mission if you felt like it. A great concept.
Notes: Before getting a Nintendo Wii, we had for a while a Nintendo GameCube. It was nice but it didn't play that much. The only game I really spent some time on was Need for Speed: Underground. Completely unrealistic (F*ck Gran Turismo!) but a lot ot fun!
Notes: I was badly addicted to this game... I played like crazy and almost finished it. I just love the concept, the graphics/animation and the mood of the game...and it was made by some French dudes !!!
Notes: My last addiction. I bought it thinking "I'm going to play a couple of times for fun and put it away forever". I ended up playing everyday at least 1 hour for 6 months (Seriously...). My wife got pretty mad and couldn't wait for me to stop. I just couldn't. I had to master all those songs... Anyway, I bought World Tour but even if it was fun, it was a little too commercial for me ("Beat it", "Spiderwebs",...Come on !!!). I still play from time to time.
(I'm the guy with the red shirt singing (I know, it is just terrible...)
Notes: Following my project "try to socialize, make some friends!", 2 colleagues of mine came to my place with a Playstation to do some gaming. It has been a while for me and I don't know if I will do this often (I don't like people!) but we have done it twice and it was pretty cool! Our favorite game was...UFC ! I thought it would be pretty lame but we had such a laugh playing against each other or, should I say, beating the sh*t out of each other! Great fun...
Notes: During those gaming evenings (see comment above), we played Gran Turismo 5 but honestly, I wasn't really impressed. Allright, it looks pretty good, there are loads of cars, options, stuff, whatever,... but it was kinda boring... On the other hand, I was really impressed by Colin McRae:DiRT2. It looked gorgeous and the way you could totally smash your car was really awesome. A great game!

Before I started to ONLY watch movies, I used to do other stuff...
I used to be really addicted to video games.
Awesome list! Very detailed. I used to play Prince of Persia back in grade school on the old computers, brings back a lot of memories. I had forgotten about that game!
awesome list of games dude. I totally agree with a ton of them especially Need For Speed (eff Grand Turismo!) except I liked the Aladdin on SNES better. Other than that great!
Great work
gret lists
Surprised to not see ChronoTrigger on here though. By far the best game I ever played. Nice list!
There's mine. Not a single common game between us, but that's because I have unhealthily niche interests.
