1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - PC Games
Notes: I used to play this at the friend's house and I thought it was awesome. I love the movie and this game just followed this great adventure. A great game.

2. Prince of Persia - PC Games
Notes: Same as above, I used to play this at the friend's house and I thought it was awesome. The animation may seem awkward nowadays but back then it was quite revolutionary. A very nice game.

3. Super Mario World - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Another classic. My favorite Mario adventure. I spent hours on this one aswell. Yoshi started on this one and became a huge star.

People who added this item 112  Average listal rating (74 ratings) 7.4
4. F-Zero - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: It was also one of the first game released on the Super Nintendo. The graphics, animation and music were very good. You could really feel the speed. A very fun game.

5. Pilotwings - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: This one is pretty forgotten. It was one of the first game released on the Super Nintendo and I just loved the concept. A very original game.

People who added this item 604  Average listal rating (435 ratings) 8.5
6. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Maybe the best Zelda game ever made. A great adventure and a very enjoyable game. I spent hours on this one.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 512  Average listal rating (417 ratings) 8.2
7. Super Mario Kart - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: I spent hours on this one. Nowadays, we are very familiar with the concept but, back then, it was really new. A great fun and my favorite mario kart version.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 222  Average listal rating (150 ratings) 8
8. Street Fighter II - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Back then, I bought the Japanese version for 100 euros because I didn't want to wait for the European version. A great classic and it remains one of my favorite games 16 years later.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 10  Average listal rating (8 ratings) 7.1
9. Out of This World - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: I guess everyone has forgotten this game but I didn't! A great adventure with a revolutionary animation. The only low point is that it was too short!

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 9  Average listal rating (5 ratings) 5.8
10. Flashback: The Quest for Identity - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Similar to "Out of This world" in style, I was more a fan of "Out of this world" but Flashback was the most famous one. It indeed had better graphics and animation and the adventure was quite fascinating aswell.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 51  Average listal rating (33 ratings) 7.3
11. NBA Jam - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: it was not as good as the arcade game but it was so much fun. Maybe my favorite multiplayer game. You could have 4 players playing alltogether (something completely new at the time).

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 40  Average listal rating (24 ratings) 8.4
12. Super Bomberman - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Another great multiplayer game. Difficult to chose between this one, Mario kart and NBA Jam for the best multiplayer game. As NBA Jam, you could have 4 players. Loads of fun.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 57  Average listal rating (38 ratings) 7.6
13. Sim City - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Such a huge a classic. It is now kind of legendary. I spent hours on this one, building a huge city and getting those annoying traffic jams....

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 22  Average listal rating (12 ratings) 7.3
14. Lemmings - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: Back then, it was a huge phenomenom. A classic great game. I spent hours trying to figure out all those damned puzzles....

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 456  Average listal rating (329 ratings) 8.1
15. Donkey Kong Country - Super famicom and SNES
Notes: It was released in the last years of the Super Nintendo and they basically gave everything they got. Back then, it was really revolutionary with its gorgeous 3D graphics and animation. It was a very fun game and I spent many hours on this one.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 431  Average listal rating (312 ratings) 7.9
16. Sonic the Hedgehog - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Notes: Back then, I was a fan of Sonic. I guess I'm still a fan of Sonic who is, in my opinion, much more fun than Mario. It's a pity that Sega lost the "Video game" war and don't make any console anymore. Back in the 90's, it was unthinkable to imagine a Sega game on a Nintendo platform or a game combining Mario and Sonic.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 356  Average listal rating (249 ratings) 8.3
17. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Notes: I first played this at a friend's house and years later I got myself a Megadrive with those 3 games. Sega improved the music/graphics/animation and the game was still very addictive. This time, you could even have 2 players playing at the same time.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 220  Average listal rating (146 ratings) 8
18. Sonic & Knuckles - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Notes: The last Sonic game I remember playing on the Megadrive (did I play Sonic 3? don't remember...). Again a very cool game.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 107  Average listal rating (78 ratings) 7.3
19. Aladdin - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Notes: Back in those days, they didn't make exactly the same game on all the platforms. The Super Nintendo Aladdin was pretty good but this one was just great. I wished I played it more because it had gorgeous graphics and animation.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 25  Average listal rating (17 ratings) 6.9
20. Road Rash - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Notes: I just loved this game. riding some bikes, buying some bikes, kicking some asses.... Just some great fun !

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 249  Average listal rating (183 ratings) 8.5
21. Tetris - Game Boy
Notes: Just like everyone I lost my mind on those damned bricks...

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 26  Average listal rating (14 ratings) 6.5
22. Ridge Racer - PlayStation
Notes: Finally I traded the good old Super Nintendo for a brand new Playstation (later A.K.A. Playstation 1). My first game was Ridge Racer. Even if there was only 1 track (so cheap...), I just loved this game and spent hours playing it.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 25  Average listal rating (15 ratings) 7.1
23. Destruction Derby - PlayStation
Notes: I'm pretty sure everybody forgot this game but it was so f*cking awesome! I will never forget the sight of the huge "360!" on your screen meaning you just crashed your opponent and got the maximum points. There was a sequel which was much more realistic but not as fun as this one. A great game.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 28  Average listal rating (20 ratings) 7.6
24. Wipeout - PlayStation
Notes: A huge classic. A beautiful game which really gave you the feeling you were floating in the air. Definitely an original driving game. Loved it and spent hours trying to manage the tricky controls.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 263  Average listal rating (173 ratings) 8.2
25. Resident Evil: Director's Cut - PlayStation
Notes: My favorite Playstation game. I spent hours playing this with my brother in the dark. The mood was just great. I finished this one, number 2 and number 3 aswell. The sequels were nice and better on a technical level but my favorite remains the 1st one because the focus was more on the mood than the action/shooting stuff.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 988  Average listal rating (655 ratings) 8.4
26. Final Fantasy VII - PlayStation
Notes: I didn't spend much time playing this one because I was kind of losing interest in video games back then (girls/party/drinking/smoking shit...you know the drill...). But this game was beautiful and was such a great adventure.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 484  Average listal rating (351 ratings) 8.3
27. GoldenEye 007 - Nintendo 64
Notes: Back in those days, my little brother decided to switch the good old Playstation 1 for a Nintendo 64. I was never really happy with this choice and the only 2 games I remember really enjoying on this machine were GoldenEye and Mario Kart 64. I used to play Goldeneye with 3 of my buddies and we had a awesome time, killing each other...

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 580  Average listal rating (437 ratings) 8.1
28. Mario Kart 64 - Nintendo 64
Notes: There is a big debat about which Mario Kart is the best, the one on the Super Nintendo or the one on the Nintendo 64 ? Difficult to choose, but there was a definite improvement and it was the possibility to have 4 players playing at the same time! Like Goldeneye, I used to play this with my 3 buddies and we had a blast...

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 1  Average listal rating (1 ratings) 9
29. Final Match Tennis - TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine
Notes: I know, it looks pretty ugly but it is actually a really awesome game. It is a rather unknown game nowadays but it is actually one of the best tennis games ever conceived with some amazing controls.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 24  Average listal rating (15 ratings) 7.9
30. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - PC Games
Notes: We played this at a friend's house a couple of nights. It was quite difficult to find your way but the story was just fascinating and I just love the mood of the game.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 54  Average listal rating (32 ratings) 7.8
31. Virtua Tennis - Sega Dreamcast
Notes: I played it only a couple of times on Dreamcast but I was completely hooked right away. I may buy a Dreamcast one day just to play this game all day long. My favorite sport game.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 798  Average listal rating (587 ratings) 7.8
32. Grand Theft Auto III - PlayStation 2
Notes: One of my favorite games of all the time. Even though I never owned a Playstation 2, I played this game like crazy until I finished it. A great game with a lot of liberty. You could do whatever you wanted for a while and then get back to the mission if you felt like it. A great concept.

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 133  Average listal rating (69 ratings) 7
33. Big Brain Academy - Nintendo DS
Notes: I played this only a couple of times but I found it so addictive...

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 29  Average listal rating (14 ratings) 7.3
34. Need for Speed: Underground - GameCube
Notes: Before getting a Nintendo Wii, we had for a while a Nintendo GameCube. It was nice but it didn't play that much. The only game I really spent some time on was Need for Speed: Underground. Completely unrealistic (F*ck Gran Turismo!) but a lot ot fun!

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 168  Average listal rating (95 ratings) 6.9
35. Rayman: Raving Rabbids - Nintendo Wii
Notes: I was badly addicted to this game... I played like crazy and almost finished it. I just love the concept, the graphics/animation and the mood of the game...and it was made by some French dudes !!!

johanlefourbe's rating:

People who added this item 112  Average listal rating (57 ratings) 8.1
36. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Nintendo Wii
Notes: My last addiction. I bought it thinking "I'm going to play a couple of times for fun and put it away forever". I ended up playing everyday at least 1 hour for 6 months (Seriously...). My wife got pretty mad and couldn't wait for me to stop. I just couldn't. I had to master all those songs... Anyway, I bought World Tour but even if it was fun, it was a little too commercial for me ("Beat it", "Spiderwebs",...Come on !!!). I still play from time to time.

37. UFC 2009 Undisputed - PlayStation 3
Notes: Following my project "try to socialize, make some friends!", 2 colleagues of mine came to my place with a Playstation to do some gaming. It has been a while for me and I don't know if I will do this often (I don't like people!) but we have done it twice and it was pretty cool! Our favorite game was...UFC ! I thought it would be pretty lame but we had such a laugh playing against each other or, should I say, beating the sh*t out of each other! Great fun...

(man, that's what 'm talking about...)

38. DiRT 2 - PlayStation 3
Notes: During those gaming evenings (see comment above), we played Gran Turismo 5 but honestly, I wasn't really impressed. Allright, it looks pretty good, there are loads of cars, options, stuff, whatever,... but it was kinda boring... On the other hand, I was really impressed by Colin McRae:DiRT2. It looked gorgeous and the way you could totally smash your car was really awesome. A great game!

Awesome list! Very detailed. I used to play Prince of Persia back in grade school on the old computers, brings back a lot of memories. I had forgotten about that game!

Thanks for reminding me of Out of this World! I'd forgotten about it...such a great game.

Surprised to not see ChronoTrigger on here though. By far the best game I ever played. Nice list!

There's mine. Not a single common game between us, but that's because I have unhealthily niche interests.

awesome list of games dude. I totally agree with a ton of them especially Need For Speed (eff Grand Turismo!) except I liked the Aladdin on SNES better. Other than that great!
