The couple: partners in crime turned lovers. They were always close friends, until some champagne, a dance and a limo changed everything. Since then, we've seen them play games, finally tell each other how they feel, try to make their relationship work and, the most dificult of all, try to stay away from each other.
Reasons to love them: I could write a giant essay about it, but I'll make it short. They are definitely not your average teen show couple. They are complex characters in an unusual relationship. They're not dull or boring and usually have original scenes. And last, but not least, they love and accept each other for who they are and not in spite of it, which is not something we usually see on tv.
Greatest moment: some would say it was when Chuck finally said those three words we were all waiting to hear for a whole season, but since I'm more of an angst girl, I choose the scene in the season four finale where Chuck lets Blair go because she'll be happier with the (dull and boring) prince.
The couple: dead boy meets girl, they fall in love, she finds out he's dead, she accidentally kills herself, they think they'll live happily ever after, until she finds out the horrible things he's done.
Reasons to love them: for their unusual story, for one. They were also really cute and adorable and they can be together for always, literally. And she's the only light he's ever known. ;)
Greatest moment: after she finds out she's dead and he says they're gonna be together for always.
The couple: the fact that they were from different Glee clubs and both very competitive made things a little complicated for this unlikely pairing. They were together for a while, but in the end, their love for the stage was bigger than their love for each other.
Reasons to love them: Rachel is one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen on a TV show, but still, when she was with Jesse, I actually liked her. That's enough reason to want them together.
Greatest Moment: when he tells her he wants to introduce her to Jesse, the guy who's nuts about her.
Rachel: I have to ask you something. And I need you to tell me the truth, because if you don’t, there will be consequences… Life-and-death consequences. Because if I give myself to you, and it turns out that you’re just playing me, I might die. Okay, not literally, but emotionally. It’ll be the kind of heartbreak that girls like me hold for the rest of their lives like Barbara in “the way we were”. Jesse: Oh, my god. Rachel: What ? Jesse: You’re more of a drama queen than I am ! Hi. I’m Jesse. Rachel: I know who you are. Jesse: You know Jesse St. James, the star of Vocal Adrenaline, your competition at regionals. I want to introduce you to Jesse, the guy who’s nuts about you, the guy who would never hurt you.
The couple: what couple? They didn't even like each other. They just worked together when it was convenient.
Reasons to love them: they could have been so hot together. And they were really two of a kind, if they could just see how similar they were: both came from broken homes, had daddy issues (for very different reasons, but still) and were lonely people trying to show strengh to hide how vulnerable they were.
Greatest moment: when she says they should have angry sex.
The couple: they went from a one night stand to good friends to friends with benefits and, finally, to being officially in a serious relationship.
Reasons to love them: while most viewers wanted to see Cappie & Casey together, I thought this couple was way more interesting. They were seen as the 'bad kids', but deep down they were just lonely and insecure. And together, they became better versions of themselves. I loved watching every part of their journey.
Greatest Moment: when they went to the ball as the evil queen and the big bad wolf.
The couple: early in the show, we were introduced to Perry's ex-wife. Soon, we found out they didn't hate each other as much as they wanted people to believe they did, it was quite the opposite. In the years that followed, we watched them trying to deal with their feelings, learning how to be together and raising a family.
Reasons to love them: that's an easy one, not only they were the funniest couple on tv, but also the only one I've seen that got married (again), had children and were able to pull it off. They didn't get boring or dull. On the contrary, their children made them even more awesome and evil.
Greatest moment: this one is not so easy. They had so many great moments, but the scene I always remember when I think of them is the one where Perry talks about the importance of them having fights and what he likes about Jordan. I can't find the episode the scene is from, so for now I'll just post the last and best part of the dialogue.
Perry: You're a wonderful and passionate person, and that's why I can see myself with you when I'm 70 and you're 65 and your face is 40 and your boobs are 29. Jordan: My face will never look 40.
The couple: They went from friends, to enemies, to sort of friends again and after that it was really hard to tell. In the show's third and final season, they were finally together for a while, just to break up halfway through. The truth is Veronica's issues always got in the way of their relationship.
Reasons to love them: it was always fun to see them interact. It didn't matter if they were together or apart, friends or enemies, they were always witty and cute. Most of their best scenes happened when they weren't together.
Greatest moment: This isn't my favorite scene, but it's the one everyone remembers when they think of Logan & Veronica. After it aired, the word epic started to be overused by shippers all around. If you watched this show, you know I'm talking about the alterna prom scene where a drunken Logan poured his heart out to Veronica and she... left.
The couple: She was the slayer, he was a vampire. That could only mean they were enemies, the type that try to kill each other. But somehow he fell for her and became a better man because of that. He then went on a mission to get his soul back and prove he was capable of love.
Reasons to love them: because you would never guess, watching season 2, that they would ever be something other than enemies and that they would have come so far. They were unpredictable. Plus, there's this obvious reason: they were hot!! The first time they had sex, they brought the house down, literally.
Greatest moment: it's hard to choose between their scene on Touched and their final scene, but I'm gonna go with the latter.
Touched scene starts at 6:00 and the Chosen one at 11:09
The couple: doomed from the start. But aren't those the couples that we want to see together the most? It took a while, but when they finally became friends, she became his dearest and most trusted one. And after three seasons, they finally realized they were in love. From then on, bad writing and real life personal problems ruined any chance this couple had, but that didn't make us love them any less.
Reasons to love them: they had the cutest and most genuine friendship and they would literally do anything for each other. Also, he made her a better person and she made him smile (we didn't even know that was possible).
Greatest moment: their goodbye scene, so sad and beautiful.
Angel: Lindsey wasted a lot of energy trying to make me doubt myself. I know it's not even close to over, but I do feel like I can do this. Wolfram & Hart, whatever's coming, I feel like we can beat it. Cordelia: I know. Angel: You do? Cordelia: I always did. I just needed you to know it, too. Angel: So all that stuff about the deals with the devil... Cordelia: Was God's honest truth. But you're bigger than that. You'll win this in the end. I just wish I could be there to see it. Angel: What do you mean? You're not... Cordelia: I can't stay. This isn't me anymore. You can say goodbye to the gang for me, explain everything once you understand. Angel: That's gonna be never. I need you here. Cordelia: Don't make it hard, Angel. I'm just on a different road... and this is my off-ramp. The Powers That Be owed me one, and I didn't waste it. I got my guy back on track. Angel: Cordy, there's just... Cordelia: We take what we can get, champ, and we do our best with it. I'll be seeing you. Oh, what the hell. One for the road? *Kiss* Full transcript here
The couple: partners and friends, who blindly trusted each other. They were never really together, but we knew there was something more there.
Reasons to love them: living in a world where they didn't know what was real and what to believe, they always had each other to lean on. Their platonic relationship was enough to keep fans interested for nine years.
Greatest moment: the final (hotel) scene of the show, which mirrors a scene from the pilot and shows how their relationship's grown since then.
Scully: Why would I accept defeat? Why would I accept it, if you won't? Mulder, you say that you've failed but you only fail if you give up. And I know you, you can't give up. It's what I saw in you when we first met. It's what made me follow you ... why I'd do it all over again. Mulder: And look what it's gotten you. Scully: And what has it gotten you? Not your sister. Nothing that you've set out for. But you won't give up, even now. You've always said that you want to believe. But believe in what Mulder? If this is the truth that you've been looking for then what is left to believe in? Mulder: I want to believe that the dead are not lost to us. That they speak to us as part of something greater than us - greater than any alien force. And if you and I are powerless now, I want to believe that if we listen to what's speaking, it can give us the power to save ourselves. Scully: Then we believe the same thing. Mulder: Maybe there's hope.
The couple: the main couple that never gets to be a couple. They always had trouble admitting their feelings for each other, specially Kara.
Reasons to love them: it's hard to believe that someone could watch this show and not hope for their happy ending (that never came). When it comes to the characters' personal lives and relationships, they were definitely the best part of the show for me. They had this chemistry and passion that is hard to put into words.
Greatest moment: the flashback scene where we find out they finally admitted their love for each other several months before.
Couldn't find the scene on YT. Just this overview of the episode.
The couple: they were best friends and everyone thought that was all they'd ever be. Until one drunken night changed everything. After that, it was a natural evolution to married with (adopted) children.
Reasons to love them: sometimes is good to root for a more fun couple, without the complications and drama. They're really funny and entertaining.
Greatest moment: when he proposes, or should I say when she proposes?
The couple: not really a couple, just friends or something like that.
Reasons to love them: the chemistry, maybe? I don't even know, I just do. It was so adorable the way he followed her around like a puppy and sometimes I'd get the feeling she felt the same way about him that he did her.
Greatest moment: when he gives her an engagement ring.
The couple: she chased him like a puppy, but he rejected her because she was in high school and involved in one of his cases.
Reasons to love them: the two greatest characters on this show and the only interesting couple. They made such a great team and were fun to watch. Introducing new love interests for them was the worst idea ever.
Greatest Moment: when he finds her naked in his bed.
Scene starts at 8:10
My favorite tv couples/ships. Except for Chuck/Blair who are my absolute fave, this is not necessarily my order of preference. I also love Lex/Lana (Smallville) and Jackie/Hyde (That 70's Show), but I didn't add them to the list because I only watched a few seasons of these shows.
