The biggest suprise of 2012. Looking at the trailers, this film seems like yet another teen movie. But the story of The Perks of Being a Wallflower was amazing. I really felt a connection with the protagonist, played by Logan Lerman. Emma Watson and Ezra Miller did a great job too. Three promising stars, that's for sure.
I just love Tarantino films! Django Unchained wasn't as good as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Inglorious Bastards, but it was still an amazing film. Foxx, Waltz and DicCaprio were amazing. Hope we will see more westerns in the near future.
Probably my most anticipated film ever. The Dark Knight still remains my favorite film ever. But Rises wasn't as good as its predecessors. Yes, I even liked Batman Begins more than this flick.
But for Batman fans like myself, this is the perfect ending to a perfect trilogy. So many references to other Batman films and comics.
Visually amazing and the story was great too. Life of Pi tells us about religion, hope and fiction. I don't know how they did it, but those animals look extremely realistic.
Need to re-watch this film. But from what I remember, I really enjoyed watching Chronicle. It started really slow and introduced the characters very well. But the last 30 minutes were absolutely madness. Needs to get more attention.
Normally I don't really like James Bond movies. I knew this one was in good hands after I saw American Beauty. I thought the first hour was a little bit 'been there, done that', but after the villain was introduced, Skyfall got better and better.
Some people call the Avengers the best flm of 2012, I disagree. The reason why this film is so good, is beacause the concept (all Marvel heroes together) seemed impossible. Another reason is seeing all those fantastic actors together on one frame. But I don't think the story was that great: the beginning was too slow and the last part was too extravagant. Curious to see Marvel act 2. (Captain America 2, Thor 2, Iron man 3, Ant Man etc)
Like The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a big suprise! I remember seeing the trailer for the first time and it didn't really convinced me. I was much more excited to see Total Recall. But Dredd 3D was amazing. I hope there will be a sequel.
Normally not my kind of movies. But I really loved the story and started reading the books. I can't wait to see the Hunger Games sequel: Catching Fire. But the Hunger Games film wasn't that great. The director really messed it up, so I'm glad the studio leaves Catching Fire in the hand of another director. I hope he doesn't use a shaking camera technique.
I'm not a big fan of science-fiction. But i felt that this film didn't exaggerate, unlike Star Wars and Star Trek. It really felt like this is going to be our future. And that little kid (won't spoil), he should get a best supporting actor Oscar.
I love realistic films with a crazy twist. Moonrise Kingdom involves real people, but the the way the characters act is not realistic. I really liked the photography of this film. And to see Willis and Norton with very exceptional roles was a great experience.
I had absolutely no confidence in Peter Jackson to make another Tolkien film. I was wrong. The Hobbit wasn't as good as the Fellowhip of the Ring, but good in it's own way. The thing I liked the most was the HFR technique. I hope to see this technique more in the future.
And Martin Freeman's Bilbo was much more interesting than Wood's Frodo
My God, The Raid was amazing. Every bit of this movie was exciting. Both the 'SWAT' part of this film and the 'Kung-Fu' didn't contain a single boring moment. Reminds me I need to watch more Asian cinema.
I know Ridley Scott said that Prometheus had nothing to do with Alien, but I like to compare them anyway. I think Prometheus wasn't as scary as Alien and Aliens, (didn't see Alien 3 yet) but Prometheus remains the same atmosphere. Loved the visuals too.
