My Anime of 2012
![]() Status: Finished Airing After I read the manga I was particularly keen on the anime. The designs have been altered a lot in some cases and in sometimes it looks really rushed but that's custom for new series by now, I guess. But the design does not always look bad. It is still very convinving and includes powerful colours. The bishies are a feast for the eyes, the seiyuu are from heaven and OnoD even sings the opening. That way I can never manage to skip it. But on the other hand the the ending is horrible - uninventive and terribly auto-tuned. In the end the anime became more and more rushed and the last episode was a joke: lame and cheesy, and not satisfying at all. It's a shame that it turned out to be such a disappointment in midway. The soundtrack sounds rather cheap and the characters do not evolve properly. It was kind of entertaining but that's about it. (Though the manga is really good! Why couldn't they make a proper series?! :C) I only enjoyed the insinuated Yukimura X Rokuro parts. 5/10 ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing Really really funny. More than I would have expected it to be. The seiyuu consist of more or less the elite. And the randomness and absurdity of this anime is more or less unique. In the middle there were some episodes that literally left you rolling over the floor laughing and then there suddenly followed some that were pretty mediocre. But in the end the hilarity prevailed and I dare say that this is one of the greatest comedies in 2012. I can hardly wait for season 2!!! 8/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing First of all the opening is beautiful. That already makes a big difference. Then there are a lot bishies and they really are breath-taking. Even better that they have convincing seiyuu. Actually Sugita-sama and Mamo-chan, the main source of humour, were the reason why I kept on watching this. Every episode I desperately hoped for my newly appointed fave character Kage-sama to appear. The episodes without him got a little repetitive after a while and I swear, for about 4 or 5 episodes the story didn't advance AT ALL!!! Near the end it got a little cheesy what was to be expected since the manga appears in the same way but it was still cute most of the time. I found the Loli Fanservice a bit annoying and too much but that's because I'm not that much into that kinda thing. 6/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi (Season 4) ![]() Status: Finished Airing Same pace and atmosphere as the other seasons and not one bit inferior to them. This series could go on forever and would never get boring. I cried and was moved as much as before. The melancholy was even stronger in this season which made it even a slight bit more tragic as well as beautiful than 'San'. (Season 3). Unfortunately no signs for another season were given...:( Noooo, I cannot live without a weekly dose of Natsume's world. I'm wishing for the best...at least an OVA...would be nice. 9/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing It certainly is like its prequel Bakemonogatari a lot. Just a little bit less symbolism and little bit more fanservice till now. Story is developing slowly and steadily. Music is similar but still something new and equally enjoyable. I enjoyed this very much~! It wasn't as good as the main series but still very good! Now the next one should be Kizumonogatari or Nekomonogatari? I'm thrilled! 9/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Dropped I started watching Hiiro no Kakera only for TomoSugi…. I thought this would be a short 12-episode anime. But no, as I looked it up on MyAnimeList I figured out there will be 26 fuckin’ episodes!!! WHAT? Already the first 4 episodes were pretty tedious. I don’t know much about the game but…it’s just so boring. The main girl is terribly annoying and uninteresting, the harem is more or less unspectacular, the bishies don’t even catch my interest anymore because they are average and bland as well, the fighting scenes don’t keep me awake…and I don’t even think the seiyuu fit the characters most of the time. I really wanted to give this anime a chance…but it didn't work out. Actually I don’t want to drop it because of TomoSugi’s wonderful wonder-voice…:S I needed to do it though…because 26 is just too much waste of my time. Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Airing A ruthless arms dealer on a quixotic quest for world peace. A child soldier born into chaotic conflict. Their lives will intertwine as they journey together through the seedy underbelly of the world's arms market. An anime with a cool and adult atmosphere, a story that at first doesn't follow a distinct path but eventually there's a common thread and the different stories connect, original and more or less realistic characters in terms of anime, and an extraordinary and experimental soundtrack. With every episode the show seems to become one bit better... 7/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing An anime about fishing, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Well, it definitely was one of the most charming, beautiful anime I've ever come across. And one that managed to mess with my feelings whenever it felt like it. How can an innocent anime about fishing get so emotional? Yep, the show is about Enoshima's new-arrival student Yuki, who gets together with alien Haru, the island's fishing prince Natsuki and an Indian 25-year old agent named Akira. Together the different characters go onto a fishing journey and believe, it really becomes something out of the ordinary. I love everything about this anime. The constant rollercoaster of emotions, the character design, the colours, the animation style, the music, the plot, the love for detail, the duck named Tapioca, the seiyuu...everything! 10/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing At Seikyou Academy hoorifying legends are going around: 60 years ago, a young woman was left to die in the abandoned school building behind the school. The funny thing is however that the school's Paranormal Investigations Club is lead by the ghost herself. Unable to remember how she died and why she is trapped in between life and death, Yuuko latches onto Teiichi Niiya, another club member and student who's the only that's able to see her, and together they and the other unsuspecting members of the club begin to unravel the many dark mysteries that surround Seikyou. A very great animation style which reminded me a lot of the -monogatari series. The atmosphere was also nice and appropriate for a story revolving around a ghost. But too often I had my fill with the ero-moments, the sob-stuff and the clichéd character behaviour. The protagonist was too girly for such a kind of anime in my opinion and Yuuko as well as any other girl got on my nerves pretty quickly. With that I actually liked none of the characters. It's not a bad anime though. 6/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
This series is not yet listed in the IMDB or Listal database. Acchi Kocchi ![]() Status: Finished Airing Tsumiki and Io have this subtle distance that anyone would want to jump in between just to bug them. Tsumiki won't be honest about her feelings toward Io. Io on the other hand is unaware of Tsumiki's feelings... It's a very cute, little tsundere love story with fantastic side-kick characters and an adorable Lucky Star'esque style. More or a less a typical Slice of Life that's very enjoyable. You'll barely get any more fluff anywhere else. 7/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Airing What? A show about talking ploar bears, pandas and penguins seems absurd? Believe me, as soon as you start watching it penguins yearning for their driver's license, pandas dressing up in punk clothes and humans whose ordinary lives consist of giving advice to zoo animals, nothing will appear strange ever again. Because absurdity in this case is very much fun. Kami-chan's rating:
![]() Status: Finished Airing The Teiko Middle School Basketball Team: The class that produced three perfect seasons in a row, with five once-in-a generation players, called "The miracle generation". However there was another player who all of them respected... A legendary 6th player. An up-and-coming power player, Taiga Kagami, is just back from America. When he comes to Seirin High School, he meets the super-ordinary boy, Tetsuya Kuroko. Kagami is shocked to find that Kuroko isn't good at basketball, in fact, he's bad! And he's so plain that he's impossible to see. But Kuroko's plainness lets him pass the ball around without the other team noticing him, and he's none other than the sixth member of the Miracle Generation. Kuroko makes a pact with Kagami to defeat the other members of the Miracle Generation, who have all played basketball at other schools. I don't know why this anime is so addicting since I've never been much into sports series but this one is just so good. I can't pinpoint it. Maybe it's the colours and its symbolism, maybe it's because all of the guys and I mean ALL of them are incredibly good-looking, maybe because every episode is so intense and full of suspense with a good mixture of humour... 10/10 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kami-chan's rating:
