Nice, I think I needed some hand holding on reason to not hate "Match Point" actually it wasn't until I started reading Jason Pettus reviews over at CCLaP that I started to understand the merits of the film. I don't always agree with his reviews but some times he has pretty good insight. As a previous NF user I appreciate his formatting and no nonsense approach.
Ya know, I debated a long time over whether or not I wanted 'hooligans' on that list. I ultimately decided that since I did enjoy it and never see it mentioned on this site, I'd include it.
The real problem is that I haven't seen enough of the good films out there from this year.
I 100% agree that 'thank you for smoking' is definately his best effort.
Don't worry, if you like the movie, you should put it on your list. Don't hesitate 1 minute. One of my favorites of all time is a Lucky Luke cartoon made in the 70's (http://www.listal.com/movie/ballade-des-dalton). Nobody has seen it and the people who has seen it don't think it's great. I don't care. It will remain one of my favorite movies forever.
I have zero love for Broken Flowers, as you may recall. Interesting mix here...lots I haven't seen (including The Descent, thanks for the reminder hehe). Ah & I recently started to watch Me & You & Everyone We Know & quickly realized I've already seen it. I just failed to remember the title was connected with the movie for some reason haha.
green street hooligans ? sorry, not for me... Maybe because I'm European and I have another experience of soccer fans.
Thank you for smoking is a great picture and until now Jason Reitman best one (much better than Juno).
