It's taken a while for this term to become a part of filmgoers' vocabulary, and if you've never heard of it, well there's a good chance you'll begin to encounter it soon enough.

From Wikipedia:

"Mumblecore is an American independent film movement that arose at the turn of the twenty-first century. It is primarily characterized by ultra-low budget production (often employing digital video cameras), focus on personal relationships between twenty-somethings, improvised scripts, and non-professional actors. Filmmakers in this genre include Lynn Shelton, Andrew Bujalski, Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, Aaron Katz, Joe Swanberg, and Barry Jenkins."

More than anything, this list is here as a personal reference for myself, as I've very much enjoyed the work of the Duplass Brothers over recent years. Enough so that I plan to check out some other films from the genre.

If anyone has seen any of these films and cares to share their thoughts, please do!
