Madness: A self confessed recluse, Okan gets easily excited about his research, he is so consumed by the alien he loses his compassion for man.

Science: A freelance inventor and repairman, the Doc holds a PHd in Physics but is a master of all sciences. Although most of his inventions prove unsuccessful, his most famous success is adaptation of a DeLorean into a time machine.
Madness: The Doc is absent minded and a tad erratic. He isolates himself somewhat from the modern world and delivers much of his dialogue in a wide-eyed and over enunciated manner.

"I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by."

"Look. There's a rhythmic ceremonial ritual coming up."

Dr. Seth Brundle



Science: A research scientist, employed by Bartok Sciences. He invented "Telepods", transporters which transfer matter between two pods.
Madness: Brundle is eccentric and obsessive in his pursuits, however this is nothing compared to the unfathomable changes in body and mind he undergoes as he begins to mutate.

"I'm becoming something that never existed before. I'm becoming... Brundlefly. Don't you think that's worth a Nobel Prize or two? "

Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond Stantz & Dr. Egon Spengler

Science: The three Docs are on a research fellowship at Columbia University, studying Parapsychology.
Madness: After having their research grant terminated, they set up a "professional paranormal investigations and eliminations" service..namely, The Ghostbusters. Ray and Egon are both obsessive in their academic exploits, while Ray represents a more flippant and eccentric side.

Dr Ray Stantz:" You know, it just occurred to me that we really haven't had a successful test of this equipment."
Dr. Egon Spengler: "I blame myself."
Dr. Peter Venkman:"So do I."
Dr Ray Stantz:" Well, no sense in worrying about it now."
Dr. Peter Venkman: "Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back."

Science: A researcher at Wayne Enterprises who develops a device to beam television directly to peoples brains.
Madness: After being shunned by Bruce Wayne, Edward adopts the persona of The Riddler and vows to have revenge. The Riddler has severe OCD, explained more in the comics, he feels compelled to leave clues at the scenes of his crimes.

"Stickley! I'm having a breakthrough! And a breakdown? Maybe! Nevertheless, I'm smarter. I'm a genius. No, several geniuses! A gaggle! A swarm! A flock of freakin' Freuds! Riddle me this, Fred! Madness: Discovers a potion which disassembles the good from the evil within a person, becomes addicted to his alter ego which thrives on satisfying primal urges. A reign of terror ensues.

Hammond: CEO of InGen, spearheaded dino-dna extraction.
Madness: The real issue is who is the mad scientist here? The person who decided to genetically engineer dinosaurs, or the guy who repeatedly returns to the park? Perhaps both.

Haven't seen half of these, but the others make up for that fact. I trust your judgment after reviewing the ones I do love on this list. The Nutty Professor? Heck yeah. Bravo.

Somehow I don't think this list is complete without Dr. Horrible but that really wasn't a movie... Oh well.

You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps.

Was it the long and lonely hours in the lab? Did their hyper intelligence isolated them from society? Or perhaps its the effects of chemical fumes. Regardless, these shining examples of insane-intelligentsia will captivate us forever with their reckless and eccentric ways.
