1. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)
I have never cried so much during a movie (or in general) as I did during this! I started crying when he was lying in his closet (?) and listening to the message from his father on 9/11, we saw the marks on his ribs, and while he lay under his bed. Five minutes after I'd finally stopped, when he started fighting with his mom about burying an empty coffin, and when the mother talked on the phone with his father during 9/11 cried again. And then, when he showed his grandfather the messages, and talked about the last message with Mr. Black, and finally broke down I also cried. Basically, I cried throughout the entire movie..

2. Amour (2012)
I was sad generally throughout the whole movie, and once in a while I'd start crying (After Extremely Loud.. this is the most I've cried from a movie) Especially when she died I saw it at the cinema, and during the credits, which were completely silent, most people stayed seated (which is really rare) and I could hear several people sniffing..

In the scenes without any talking, with just music. Especially at a couple minutes into this scene, and also every time he looks at a picture remembering Ellie. And also at the end, when he sees the last pictures in Ellie's adventure book

Warning: The end of the movie is shown at the end of this clip, starting at 6:04, the rest is from the very beginning

19. The Impossible (2012)
This movie is about the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean, and knowing that it was a true story, and how many people had similar stories was pretty horrible.

It's really sad and horrible when you see things like this on the news, but seeing more details (even if they are fake/recreated) and getting to know the people makes it even more heart-wrecking.

The part that made me tear up though, was not the saddest scenes, but the happiest ones
TinyLittleMoonbeam's rating:

There's probably more, but these are the ones I can remember from the top of my head, or have watched after I started the list

It's always the music, or someone in the movie crying, that gets me..

NB! Some of the spoilers really spoil the whole movie, so don't look if you don't want it spoiled :)

Surprised you didn't say about Snape's memories, Harry seeing his parents, Sirius and Remus via Resurrection Stone and the ending of the film. Great list, though.

Nothing wrong at all with shedding tears during a fine movie. It just means that it touched your heart. # 7 and 10 for me, as well, dear. :)

If you haven't seen it yet, the 1979 version of 'The Champ' is a very good weepy movie: http://www.listal.com/movie/the-champ
