This was a really funny movie. Edward Norton shows again why he is my favorite actor. He is even brilliant in comedic roles. the suporting cast was also perfect. Robin Williams, Catherine Keener, Michael Rispoli and the late great Vincent Schiavelli are especially good. A funny dark comedy that has to end up on my funniest movies list.
This was a boring movie. The story was ridiculous and full of plot holes and lose ends. You don't care about any of the characters, not even the lead because he was a fucking idiot to begin with when he got himself into this mess. If he had been forced to do it like the Mickey Rourke character or something we might have cared more for him, but just diddnt give a damn about him now. It had some good acting jobs tough, but that is the only good thing i could think of.
This was a cool movie. Nicolas Cage does a great job as usual, and so does the late great Dennis Hopper. It does get a little boring at times, and the ending was a little over the top for a movie like this (seems like getting stabbed does no harm to people in this world).
What a twist, this movie sucks. Seriously, the plot is idiotic, all the characters are one note and annoying, the acting is awful and the twist ending (of corse it has a twist) is one of the dumbest i have seen since, well, The Village. Whatever happend to the genius that made The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable?
I am a huge fan of the Prince of Persia games on PS2. I even love the old NES game (even tough i never could finish it. That game was fucking hard). But i did not have much hope for this film. First of all i hate the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan. When i first heard he was cast i tought it was a joke. But as it turns out that was the least of this films problems. The action was good, but everything else was awful. The story (that diddnt really happen since they go back in time at the end. Bet you diddnt see that one coming) is just awful, clichéd and done a million times before in movies like this. Why could they not just use the story from the game? That story is so much better and would definitely make a cool film if done by the right people. I also HATED the princess character. I have never seen a more annoying and forced female love interes in a movie before. All she did was whine, fuck everything up and be a bitch. And that of course means love in these films. The more i think about this film and write this short review the more mad i get at it and remove more stars from the rating. Fuck this movie!
Now this was an exciting film. I had almost not expectations for this film at all. I tought it looked pretty boring from the trailer. But after some great reviews and a score of 86% at Rotten Tomatoes i decided to give it a chance, and i loved it too. It had me on the edge of my seat for the most of it. Only Tony Scott can make a movie about a train chasing another train exciting. Denzel also gives a great preformance as usual, but Chris Pine was pretty boring. I liked him a lot better in Star Trek. The movie also gets point for haveing Kevin Corrigan in it. A great and underrated actor.
What a dissapointment this film was. It sounded like a really interesting film when i first heard about it, and the trailer and clips from it made it look really intense, but i turned out to be really boring and way too long. It would probarbly be a great short film, but an hour and a half of watching a guy talk to people on the phone is not very exciting as it turns out. It ending was also awful and predictable.
It suprices me how many times i can watch the same story and not get bored with it. I really love A Christmas Carol. It has to be one of my favorite stories. I had never seen this adaptation of it untill i saw it on TV tonight, and i liked it. Patrick Stewart was a great Ebenezer Scrooge. Michael Cane is still my favorite tough.
This was a little dissapointing. It was far from as good as other adaptations of A Christmas Carol that i have seen before. I also diddnt like the CG. Robert Zemeckis needs to start doing live action movies again instead of these creepy mocap movies. It does not look good.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. From back when Quentin Tarantino was a good and original writer and diddnt just do bad homages to old movies. Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette are both doing good jobs and has great chemistry. This also has one of the best cast lists ever. Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, etc. How can you not love a cast like that? This is definitely Tony Scott's best film too. He did a perfect job directing this, and he did not add any unnecessary cas chases and explotions.
This was a pretty good biopic. Larry Flynt has lived a pretty interesting life. I always tought he was a sleazy creep, but i was really rooting for him in this film. Must be the always likeable Woody Harrelson that was playing him.
This was a really cool action film. I was supriced by how much i loved it. I never tought i would buy Geena Davis as an action hero, but she pulled it off better than most of the action guys in Hollywood today. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the last half of the film. This definitely goes on my favorite action movies list.
Time for the first christmas movie of the year, and it's one of my favorites. I have been a fan of The Muppets since i was a kid and this was, and still is my favorite Muppet film. Im gonna lose all my manly points by saying this, but the ending always makes me cry. Yes, the Muppets makes me cry. How can you not when Tiny Tim dies?
This was pretty bad. Even Michael J. Fox could not save this film. The story was stupid, the wolf make-up was terrible and all the characters were anoying. I have the Jason Bateman sequel too on the same disc, but i have heard it's even worse so i doubt i'll watch that one anytime soon. So far none of the Michael J. Fox films i bought have really been that great. Maybe it's because im always thinking of the amazing Back to the Future films when i see him. The standards are to high.
I was a little dissapointed by this film. It looked really good and funny in the trailer, but was a bit slow and some of the jokes really fell flat. John C. Reilly was good as usual, but the rest of the cast was nothing special. Jonah Hill was good and crepy as Cyrus in the beginning, but by the end i was really sick of him.
Im a huge western fan, and especially when starring Clint Eastwood, but this was a little boring. It had some really stupid plot points and was pretty slow at times, but Clint was badass as always, and that can save a film.
This is one of my favorite super hero movies and i finally picked up the blu-ray. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is one of the best casting choises ever. I doubt anyone else could have made that character so badass. He is definitely one of my favorite movie characters.
This was a good film. Im a huge Cone brothers fan, but for some reason i had never gotten around to watching this film untill now. John Turturro and John Goodman are perfect in this. I don't think those roles could have been played by anyone else. I also think bother characters will end up on my favorite movie characters list.
After Naked Gun, i just had to watch another hilarious Leslie Nielsen movie. This is definitely the funniest film he has been in. I quote it all the time. "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue."
Leslie Nielsen was one of the funniest men i have ever seen on film. Even if his films were not that good lately, he was always the high point of every one of them. Even in those dreadful Scary Movie sequels, he at least made me chuckle. Not a lot of actors in Hollywood has Leslies great comedic timing. He could make laugh hysterically just with a facial expression. I will definitely miss him a lot. May he rest in peace.
What a crazy film this turned out to be. This is Michael J. Fox's last starring role in a movie and he is as good as ever in it. The plot of the film started out as a silly Ghostbusters type of film, but turned into something really dark and creepy by the end without losing it's charm.
This was a great fucking movie. I love heist movies and this just ended up almong my favorites. Ben Affleck is really turning in to one of my favorite directors after this and Gone Baby Gone. He even did a good acting job in this. If he does not get an oscar nomination for best director next year i will kick my TV.
This movie was really boring. I liked some parts of it. Casey Affleck and Kevin Corrigan were good in it, but i just tought the film as a whole was very boring. i found myself looking at the time a lot when watching it.
This was a fun film. Sure, it was full of cliches and the story was very predictable, but i tought the special effects where amazing to look at and the action was very cool. Nic Cage is also always a joy to watch.
This was really boring. Michael J. Fox and Kiefer Sutherland where good in it, but that was not enough to save this snore fest. Absolutely nothing happend in it. All you get is scenes where Michael J Fox is working, clubbing, doing cocanie and looking sad for two hours.
I bought a lot of Michael J. Fox films today that i had never seen before. This was a fun buddy cop film. Michael J. Fox was great as usual in this, and so was the underrated James Woods. I diddnt really get the whole part about Fox playing an action actor tough. But i guess that was part of the joke.
This was a really cool movie. The action was great and the characters were cool. The fight scenes were bad tough. Too many quick cuts and close ups. I could not understand what was happening half the time. The Dolph vs Jet Li fight could have been epic, but like this is was just kind of meh. That was the biggest flaw with the movie. The CG was also terrible. The blood and explotions looks like something from a sci-fi channel movie. Just awful. At least when compared to Stallones last film, Rambo. Why could he not just do the same here? The other thing i diddnt like was that most of the character got way to little screen time. The movie was way to short for a movie with a cast like this. I don't think Van Damme lost out on too much by not doing it now, because we would have probarbly just seen him for a total of 5 minutes anyway. That is what it felt like with guys llike Dolph, Mickey, Randy, Austin and even Jet Li. This movie should have been at least over 2 hours, not just 1 and a half. It was still a cool movie, but it's more a Stallone and Statham movie than an ensemble movie.
This was a supriceingly great film. I had heard it was good, but i loved it. That gang reminded me of my own little group of friends when i was around that age. I might have to put this on my top 50 favorite movies list.
Mel Gibson might be a fucking lunatic these days, but that is not gonna ruin my enjoyment of the Lethal Weapon movies. one of the greatest action serieses of all time. This is not as good as the first one, but it had been a few years since the last time i saw it and i watch the first one all the time.
I have never been a big fitness buff, so i never tought id be interested in this film. But after just watching a few minutes of it on TV today i was hooked. This was a very interesting documentary about steroids and the people that use it.
I had never heard about this film before i saw it at the store today in the bargin bin. I noticed that it was starring Donal Logue and Michael Rapaport, two actors i really like, so i picked it up. It was a pretty funny dark comedy. It was a little slow at times and got pretty silly by the end, but other than that i liked it.
I had not seen this is years, but i remember i found it hilarious. I must have been retarded. This had a dumb story, annoying and unlikeable characters, bad acting and it draged on for way to long. This is nowhere near as good as Clerks was.
This is the second time i watched this film this year.
This is one of my favorite comedies, hell, it's one of my favorite movies of all time. It's funny, romatic, sad and just all around a great film. Jason Segel definitely wrote a great script here. He really shows he is one of the funniest guys working in hollywood today, and i really hope to see more movies written by and starring him.
Two of the most beutiful actresses in hollywood is also in this, Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis. They both do great jobs in this too. Almost every single character in this are hilarious, from the big parts by Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis and Russell Brand to smaller parts by Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill and Jack McBrayer.
The movie also ends with a great musical number that i wont spoil for you if you have not seen this film yet, but i would difnitely play to see that musical.
This is probarbly not the last time im gonna watch this movie this year. I can watch it time after time and never get bored with it.
I liked this film better than i tought i would. I am supriced by how low the score for it is here on Listal. It's definitely better than a 3.8. The story was nothing special, but i liked the characters in it. They seemed like a fun gang to hang out with and reminded me a little of my own friends. And Sam Rockwell is always fun to watch.
This was better than i expected. I am a big fan of Jason Bateman, but this film did not seem good to me at all. Just the same old boring Jenifer Aniston rom com, and it was for the most of it, but Jason and Thomas Robinson who played the kid saved it from total disaster. Thomas is a kid actor i hope does more after this because unlike most child actors, he was really funny and deliverd his dialogue great. He should be on a TV show or something.
