Movies known to be worse than the scores show
WHY PEOPLE HATE IT: Unoriginal, nonsensical plot (unless you've watched the extended version).
WHY I DON'T MIND: The director admitted the use of themes from other movies. Visionary films like Star Wars, The Lion King, most of Pixar's work and Inception are not even original, and I still love them. Although there are films that don't care, like Equilibrium, 2012 and Alice in Wonderland. Max the Movie Kid's rating:
WHY PEOPLE HATE IT: Typical Paul-like aliens, cheese, CGI animals, no realism.
WHY I DON'T MIND: No Indiana Jones film was realistic or serious. Plus, I don't really care about the CGI animals, because it's often hard to get a real one. It's all what Indiana Jones was meant to be - camp! Max the Movie Kid's rating:
WHY PEOPLE HATE IT: There was little action and a lame story.
WHY I DON'T MIND: Drama's better than too much action. I've seen a much more cliched story in TRON 2. Max the Movie Kid's rating:
WHY PEOPLE HATE IT: They think it's just another TV episode stretched out to a feature length.
WHY I DON'T MIND: Most of the episodes act out like your regular sitcom, while the movie pushes it further. Max the Movie Kid's rating:
WHY PEOPLE HATE IT: It ain't like Die Hard anymore.
WHY I DON'T MIND: It stays true to the series' formula of reusing scripts to movies that were never meant to be Die Hard (the latest one ignores that). Max the Movie Kid's rating:

Another film that comes to mind that seems worse than the score is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is seriously underrated. I thought the Willy Wonka version is a bit overrated, despite Gene Wilder's performance and some good music numbers.
