1. X-Men (2000)
I had seen the newest X-Men movies, so i decided to go back and watch the first ones. I just love this series. I guess i'm a tad bit of a nerd, haha.
the worst part of this movie was Anna Paquin. i've never liked her, though. and i didnt even know that she was in the x-men series.

2. Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
I never really had the desire to watch these movies, but i figured that i should at some point.
i was actually pleasently surprised. i don't see why people hate tom cruise so much, to be honest
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 4231  Average listal rating (2911 ratings) 7  IMDB Rating 7.5
3. X2: X-Men United (2003)
I was pleased the the sequal lived up to my expectations. overall, this series is turning out to be excellent. marvel always seems to do a good job
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 665  Average listal rating (381 ratings) 5  IMDB Rating 5.2
4. Honey (2003)
I am getting so sick and tired of all of these underdog dance movies. is the dancing good in this movie? yes. but not "my kind" of dancing, dialect, or music. so i didn't enjoy it.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 656  Average listal rating (419 ratings) 6.7  IMDB Rating 7.1
5. State of Play (2009)
I always love Rachel McAdams movies, and this was no exception. I loved the drama and mystery.
and you can always count on rachel to be wonderful

People who added this item 38  Average listal rating (29 ratings) 2.3  IMDB Rating
6. Breaking Wind (2012)
Little disclaimer: i do like the twilight series, but i think that they screwed up the movies (books are so much better)
this moive was hillarious, i just wish that there were less fart jokes and the like. i really dont get why spoofs much always make fun of bodily functions.
other than that, i really liked this parody
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 978  Average listal rating (654 ratings) 6.3  IMDB Rating 6.6
7. Eagle Eye (2008)
For some reason it felt like i had seen this movie before, but i couldn't remember 90% of it. in any case, i knew the resolution, but basically nothing else.
anyways, i really enjoyed this movie. i love thrillers like this.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 494  Average listal rating (288 ratings) 4.5  IMDB Rating 4.3
8. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
ehh, i'm pretty neutral about this movie. didn't hate it, didn't really like it all that much. it didn't really hold my attention; but neither did the first one.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 2967  Average listal rating (2025 ratings) 7.3  IMDB Rating 7.6
9. Watchmen (2009)
This was a very complex movie, and also very long.
its not that it didn't hold my intrest, but i felt lost through the majority of it. i know that this is typical for book-based movies, so i should probably read the novel if i want to truly enjoy the movie
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 75  Average listal rating (41 ratings) 6.3  IMDB Rating 6.4
10. Freakonomics (2010)
Very, very interesting. I definitely would reccomend this to anybody.

People who added this item 538  Average listal rating (305 ratings) 5.4  IMDB Rating 5.5
11. The Smurfs (2011)
I don't really know what i was expecting when i decided to watch this movie. i had never seen anything with the smurfs, the only thing that i knew was that there was an addictive get-stuck-in-your-head song that they sing, that's why i waited so long to see it.
but it was actually really good. there are some very touching moments that i found very enjoyable.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 4645  Average listal rating (3175 ratings) 6.5  IMDB Rating 6.8
12. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
LOVED IT! Now that i have officially seen all of the X-Men movies, i can say that i am DEFINITELY a fan. :]
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 143  Average listal rating (80 ratings) 4.6  IMDB Rating 4.4
13. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (2011)
Was this really necessary? it really felt like they were grasping at straws with this one. and that is coming from someone who actually DID like the first movie and is not totally annoyed by the chipmunk voices.

i did enjoy the reference to wilson and robinson crusoe (calloway, nerf, etc...)
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 2204  Average listal rating (1436 ratings) 6.1  IMDB Rating 6.8
14. Mission: Impossible 3 (2006)
I had to finish up the trilogy before seeing the next movie. again, i was pretty pleasently surprised. i had never watched these movies because always seemed so cliche, but i actually did like it.
the only downside is that i'm not really into the super-long-everything-blows-up-every-ten-seconds type scenes.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 50  Average listal rating (30 ratings) 4.5  IMDB Rating 4.1
15. Chain Letter (2009)
i watched this movie on netflix mainly because i thought it sounded dumb. but it actually turned out to be pretty good! it made you take a hard look at technology and privacy in our world today.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 60  Average listal rating (38 ratings) 5.2  IMDB Rating 5.3
16. Meeting Evil (2012)
I'm not completely sure what I was expecting- but this wasn't it. however, it held my attention and I found it to be very good. Although the ending did confuse me a little.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 259  Average listal rating (166 ratings) 6.6  IMDB Rating 6.8
17. Martian Child (2007)
I've seen this movie before, but I am taking a Special Education course right now and we are curretnly talking about autisim, which made me think of this movie. I simply love this movie, it is so touching and heartwarming.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1428  Average listal rating (935 ratings) 5.7  IMDB Rating 6.5
18. Road Trip (2000)
this was pretty much your typical teenage movie. which means that i loved it. they are my guilty pleasures :]
i did enjoy that it was COMPLETELY typical (revolving around a frat house party and beer)
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 5037  Average listal rating (3410 ratings) 7.2  IMDB Rating 7.4
19. Sleepy Hollow (1999)
It appears that i have picked quite a few good movies to watch this week. tim burton films are usually a bit "out there", and that's what i like about them! johnny deepe did fantastic as always. and not knowing the story before going into it helped with the suspense.
i'm a fan
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 5376  Average listal rating (3663 ratings) 7.3  IMDB Rating
20. Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Movies based on true stories are always great to watch. I enjoyed this movie and it did keep my attention. not my absolute favorite, but definitely made you think,
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1347  Average listal rating (873 ratings) 5.9  IMDB Rating 6.4
21. The Perfect Storm (2000)
Not going to lie, I couldn't even finish this movie. I know that some people might like it, but I was bored out of my mind.
Sorry.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1442  Average listal rating (894 ratings) 7.6  IMDB Rating 7.8
22. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
Okay, another miss for me. I like stop-motion, but something about this one just really freaked me out. And hearing Geroge Cloony's sexy voice coming out of such a creepy fox really did it for me.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 2349  Average listal rating (1610 ratings) 7.5  IMDB Rating 7.5
23. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)
It's always nice to watch a movie with a unique concept like this one. :]
this movie was very refreshing and i enjoyed it very much.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1233  Average listal rating (746 ratings) 6.8  IMDB Rating 7.1
24. 9 (2009)
I'm always a big advocate for a good animated movie. In my opinion, this was one. I really don't have anything negative to say about it, honestly.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 279  Average listal rating (179 ratings) 4.7  IMDB Rating 4.5
25. Black Christmas (2006)
well, i don't know why i thought that this would be good. i suppose it was decent, but the gore was not really appealing to me at all. there are two things that i hate: injuries to eyes and death in water. this movie has one, i wont say which
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 218  Average listal rating (126 ratings) 5.6  IMDB Rating 5.8
26. The Divide (2011)
This is one of those "wtf" movies that gets more and more strange the farther into it you get. Very dark, very creepy to think about if you were placed in such a situation. I'm still in the air about this movie.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 292  Average listal rating (189 ratings) 6.2  IMDB Rating 6.7
27. Hysteria (2011)
I usually do not like period movies, but this was an exception. Based on a true story, and quite funny. Definitely not for children, though.
A hit in my book
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 29  Average listal rating (12 ratings) 6.2  IMDB Rating 5.3
28. Hurt (2009)
This movie really kept me guessing up until the end. I like movies where you keep second guessing who the antagonist is. So another hit for me :]

29. Fight or Flight (2010)
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1181  Average listal rating (785 ratings) 6.8  IMDB Rating 7.4
30. Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011)
I can't really say that I'm a fan, sorry.
And by the way, why in all spy movies do they say "here is your mission IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT?" You know that they are going to accept. Geez
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 268  Average listal rating (167 ratings) 5  IMDB Rating 4.9
31. The Darkest Hour (2011)
LOVED IT. It was very well executed. There are many other movies similar to it, ill admitt that, but for some reason this on kept my attention
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 4332  Average listal rating (2754 ratings) 7.4  IMDB Rating 7.8
32. Lost in Translation (2003)
A little dull in my opinion, but there were definitely some funny moments. I really don't have too much to say about it, to be honest.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1266  Average listal rating (892 ratings) 7.1  IMDB Rating 7.1
33. The Cabin in the Woods (2012)
I saw this in the theater. It was very...different. I really don't know how else to describe it. But I liked it. It was not what I was expecting, that is for sure. It was a good mix of comedy, horror, and mystery. I enjoyed, just, different.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 2042  Average listal rating (1303 ratings) 6.3  IMDB Rating 6.6
34. Silent Hill (2006)
I've seen it before, but I didn't even realize it until a ways into the movie. I guess that tells you how much it impacted me. My second viewing was not that much more influencial, i must say.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 109  Average listal rating (75 ratings) 5.9  IMDB Rating 5.9
35. The Double (2011)
Don't you hate it when you think you've figured it out and then you really haven't? that pretty much sums up this movie.
I enjoyed it, though :]
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 386  Average listal rating (245 ratings) 6.3  IMDB Rating 6.5

Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 87  Average listal rating (55 ratings) 5.1  IMDB Rating 5.4

Sorry, miss.

Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1905  Average listal rating (1194 ratings) 6.5  IMDB Rating 6.8

Ehh, it was okay. A little dark for me, but i knew that going in.

People who added this item 1355  Average listal rating (827 ratings) 6.9  IMDB Rating 7.2

Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 412  Average listal rating (261 ratings) 5.4  IMDB Rating 5.5
42. The Skulls (2000)
One word to describe this movie: underrated. That, of course, is my opinion. But I found it very well done.

People who added this item 236  Average listal rating (133 ratings) 7.4  IMDB Rating 7.3
43. Winnie the Pooh (2011)
AWESOME! It was just like old times

Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 2177  Average listal rating (1313 ratings) 7.1  IMDB Rating 7.4
45. The Fountain (2006)
This one is by the same director as requiem for a dream, so I was skeptical. It was fairly confusing, but decent.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 1230  Average listal rating (817 ratings) 5.4  IMDB Rating 6.1
46. Johnny English (2003)

Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 966  Average listal rating (629 ratings) 7.1  IMDB Rating 7.6
47. Moneyball (2011)
I would have liked this movie better if i understood more about baseball, but since i'm a little ignorant when it comes to sports, i'm sure that there were referances and puns that i didn't catch. but it was still interesting, i love me a good true story :]
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 563  Average listal rating (341 ratings) 4.8  IMDB Rating
48. Garfield: A Tail Of Two Kitties (2006)
So cute :]
I love Garfield. The first movie was better, but it wasn't bad for a sequal.
Lydia's rating:

People who added this item 45  Average listal rating (29 ratings) 4.6  IMDB Rating 4.6
49. The Skulls II (2002)
Again, i feel like this movie has been overlooked, but did "The Skulls" really need a sequal? Probably not. But it was still decent. i'd reccomend it

Always nice to find another monthly list with notes. :)

I like the X-Men series for the most part too, though I should let you know the 3 films here aren't all of them. X-Men: First Class came out last year (and is currently my favorite of the bunch) and there's also X-Men Origins: Wolverine (currently my least favorite of them).

Also it looks like we're in agreement on MI III, but I didn't care much for the 2nd one. The first remains my favorite of the series, but I haven't managed to check out the 4th film yet. I'll look forward to seeing whether you enjoy it.
Posted: 2 years, 8 months ago at Apr 7 12:25
Thank you! I actually saw X-Men first class and Wolverine when they came out, that's why I went back and watched the rest of them. :]
Posted: 2 years, 8 months ago at Apr 12 21:51
Ah OK. Since only those 3 are here I thought maybe you'd somehow missed the newer ones. That's what I get for assuming. ;)
Posted: 2 years, 8 months ago at Apr 13 1:52
That's okay. You're forgiven. :]
Any reccomendations for me to watch?
Posted: 2 years, 7 months ago at Apr 23 14:50
I don't even know where to start with recommendations haha. Um, you might take a look at this list which has the best of what I watched last year...also the worst so you know what NOT to watch. ;)
