I don't know why but I didn't know that "King Kong" was such a poor box office performer. Not the worst but still compared to Water World?

I own all off these movies besides Cleopatra there are some great i.e( Toy story, The dark knight,Avatar) movies some are ok i.e( Transformers's, 2012 , Superman returns ) but all these are MUST OWN for ALL

@jaytoast, it concerns the unadjusted gross for the US. For this movie, you can double it for the Worldwide gross ($547m unadjusted).

Also, when a movie gets released on DVD, it can add significantly to its gross, especially if it gets good word of mouth.

What about Heaven's Gate, The Deer Hunter, and Apocalypse Now?

@blankend. I have never heard that 'The Deer hunter' was a really expensive movie and concerning 'Heaven's gate' and 'Apocalypse now', they never came near such huge budgets

'The deer hunter': $15m (non-adjusted)
'Heaven's gate' : $44m (non-adjusted)
'Apocalypse now' : $31m (non-adjusted)

I still can't believe how expensive "Tangled" was. I've tried looking into it and kind find any legit reason.
Posted: 1 month ago at Apr 21 13:36
@Stehako, for your info, 'Tangled' was 6 years in development which is very long for an animated feature and they employed a unique artistic style by blending features of both computer-generated imagery (CGI) and traditional animation together, while utilizing non-photorealistic rendering to create the impression of a painting (wikipedia). Maybe that explained why it was so expansive.
