Puffy monolids

- There's more fat on the eyelids which makes the eyes look a bit more closed and "puffy". Unlike sunken eyelids, there is no significant crease on the lid.

Partial monolids

- The eyelid has partially formed creases on the lid but lack the muscles to create a full double eyelid. Thus, despite of its name, it's not a monolid.

Hooded eyelids

- The eyelid is "hooded", hiding the crease when viewed straight on. They are actually considered as double eyelids although they may appear as single eyelids.

Single eyelid, also called a monolid, means an eyelid that doesn't create a crease on the upper eyelid. This "fold" in the upper eyelid is more commonly known as a double eyelid. Although many people consider single eyelids as unique and charming, there's still a widespread idea about monolids being unattractive. It would be very important to consider every shape of eye, as well as any kind of appearance, as unique and beautiful. The meaning of this list is to show that also monolids are very charming and attractive.

I have also included some other types of eyes on the list that are not considered as monolids. These include hooded eyelids, demi eyelids and partial eyelids.

Notice! Many people have so called "sok ssangapuls" which is a Korean term to describe a little, hidden crease on the eyelid. That means that these eyes may appear to have single eyelids when viewed straight on but actually the eyes are considered as double eyelids because of the crease that is hidden under the hooded eyelids. It can sometimes be hard to tell single and double eyelids apart, so if you think there's someone with (hooded) double eyelids on the list (that I haven't written as having them), please let me know. New suggestions of people with single eyelids would be most welcome!

An epicanthic fold, which means a skin fold that covers the inner part of the eye, is often associated with single eyelids. However, it's a distinct feature and thus one can have an epicanthic fold with both single and double eyelids. There's also people with epicanthic fold added to the list, regardless if they have single eyelids or not.

Thank you so much for your nice comment! ^^
Actually, I started the list in 2014 but published it first just now! That's why you haven't seen it before :)

I can believe that there are many people from many different nationalities with monolids! I would like to add people to the list from many different nationalities to break the idea that only certain ethnic groups can have the monolid type.

Thank you for your suggestions! I will add them to the list ^^
