Manic Street Preachers Albums from worst to best
This album is the worst from this great band. There isn't that much good pop songs or songs with political message. Also the "rebel" attitude is missig.
If I have to pick one song. It would be La Tritesse Durera (Scream To A Sigh). It's an almost good song. Track List 1. "Sleepflower" – 4:51 Tumppi's rating:
Highly overrated album, that doesn't have many good songs. It's little bit better than Gold Against the Soul, but not much. Lyrics are stronger and that's why I like The Holy Bible. What I don't like about it, that it's very hard to listen. There isn't that many groovy songs in this album. Maybe it's a concept album, but I don't get.
Track List 1. "Yes" 4:59 Tumppi's rating:
This album proves that I don't like Edwards Songwriting. Also it was released little bit too late. It sounds like early Manics, witch is not a bad thing nor good thing. When I for heard Journal for Plague Lovers I think it was pretty good. When I listen it more I started to dislike it.
Track List 1. "Peeled Apples" – 3:33 Tumppi's rating:
Their debut album is kind of oddball. Motorcycle Emptiness is one of the best Manic songs, but after that there is not much to listen. Also You Love Us is decent song. Maybe this one gets it's credits for freshness and rebel attitude.
Track List 1. "Slash 'n' Burn" – 3:59 Tumppi's rating:
This album is weird mix. There is lots of good stuff. But also very much bad songs. Have to say that Ocean Spray hit my like a dozen killer bees. It's a very good songwriting and iteresting melodies. Also I like the theme of this album, that is very much communist propaganda style. It's contention to western civilization to rethink our values.
Track List 1. "Found That Soul" – 3:05 Tumppi's rating:
Manic's newest album in their own words is; "We're going for big radio hits on this one ... It isn't a follow-up to Journal For Plague Lovers.". Ok, it sure is like that. It's very poppy album. Easy to listen and there is many good song. Of course the best one is (It's Not War) Just the End of Love that also got most of playtime in radiochanels. I also like Postcards from a Young Man, it has a very good pop song meldodies.
Track List 1. "(It's Not War) Just the End of Love" – 3:32 Tumppi's rating:
This is the album when I realized that Manics are the best. After all Send Away the Tigers isn't their best album, but it's really nice work. There's lots of good pop songs like Indian Summer, Autumsong and also a great duet Your Love Alone Is Not Enough with Gardigans singer Nina Persson.
Track List 1. "Send Away the Tigers" – 3:36 Tumppi's rating:
I was so surprised when I heard this album. It's so fucking awsome. I couldn't beleave that. Because I was always told that 00's Manics sucks. In my books this prove them wrong. Songs are funny and powerful at the same time. Specialy The Love of Richard Nixon is very good songwriting. Also Empty Souls is five stars song. There is so many good stuff in Lifeblood, to remind why Manic Street Preachers is one of the best bands in the world.
Track List 1. "1985" – 4:08 Tumppi's rating:
Last two albums where hardest to put in order. So today it like this. Everything Must Go is perfect album. There is no bad songs, couple decent. But overall it's one of the best alternative rock albums ever made. If I have to Choose best songs from this album, here's my picks:
Track List 1. "Elvis Impersonator: Blackpool Pier" – 3:29 (Lyrics by Wire/Edwards) Tumppi's rating:
There is only one album that's better than Everything Must Go and it's This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours...
This was the first album that I heard from the Manics. When it was released I wasn't that exicted. It took me many years to figure out how awsome this album is. When I finaly get it, the album hit me really hard. It has so strong lyrics, but still it's very easy to listen. My picks from number one album are: Track List 1. "The Everlasting" – 6:09 Tumppi's rating:
