King Creole was probably Elvis' best movie. It had a bigger budget and great supporting actors like Walter Matthau, Dean Jagger, Caroline Jones, and Vic Morrow. Elvis showed signs of becoming a serious actor. If only he had been allowed (by Col Parker)to contnue in this vein, he may have developed into a serious actor.

The original Hairspray was so much better than the Musical re-make.
I found Dennis Quaid un-intentionally hilarious as Jerry Lee Lewis. Especially his goofy smile and exaggerated hillbilly accent. He came off as a caricature. I heard that he acutally had problems because he became Lewis in his mindset and even developed a cocaine habit as a result. I was told he cleaned up, but I would have expected a better performance from an actor who got that deep into a role. I guess he just isn't a method actor.
