Eighth Wonder of the World!
The lone survivor of his species, King Kong lived on a strange island in the Indian Ocean in isolation and sorrow with only the company of hostile animals and a native tribe of humans. All that change when the S.S.
Venture came onto shore, carrying with it a group of filmmakers and their starlet, Ann Darrow. The natives took Ann up as a sacrifice to Kong, but he ended up seeing her as solace amongst his lonely life. However, Ann's company saw Kong only as a means of gaining profit and forcibly took him back to New York, tragedy sure to ensue. There have been three versions of the original King Kong story - the original 1933 classic, the panned 1976 version, and the grand 2005 re-envisioning. There have also been sequels, including Son of Kong (also 1933), King Kong Lives (1986), and two King Kong films by
Toho Company, Ltd. As it stands, Kong's only true rival for greatest giant monster of all time is Godzilla, King of the Monsters, whom he faced off against in the titanic spectacle that was Toho's King Kong vs Godzilla.
