Oh God... this guy is nothing more than a pretty face. I admittedly have not seen all his movies, nor will I, but the ones I have seen are good performances. He is the epitome of overrated. 99% pf the people that think he is any good are guys and girls that want to sleep with him. This is just as annoying as if guys would claim that Paris Hilton was a great actress. *gag*
Sooo, glad you created and posted this list (and that stumble dropped me into it) I was literally (yesterday) going on and on about sir yummo and his astounding versatility. I wish you could have used the older version of his character in blow just because it is soo opposite of what we expect him to look like, where as the younger side is much more like the JD we think we know. @ JDsucks, he is a pretty face and maybe that helps sell him, sometimes, but he wasn't exactly pretty in Edward and boy did we swoon over that freak. He is not exactly playing roles that are typically attractive (drunks/drug dealers/addicts/social outcasts/ self involved jerks/mentally challenged/Frankensteins/ murderers... the list goes on) but every time he is selling those characters as attractive,likeable and appoints our sympathies to his roles. Apparently he has even moved you to create an account (with his initials) solely to attempt to debase him.. pretty powerful effect he has on you too...lol

Hmm I'm a guy. I'm not gay. I don't find the man attractive ( although he looks like a good enough looking guy and I supposed most women and gay men find him attractive ) and I still think he is a talented actor. I don't see why of all the male actors out there that really are absolutely horrible actors you would pick Johnny Depp to harp on. This list alone shows just how many different roles and characters he is able to embody. Besides in a utopian society like Hollywood where everyone is attractive, saying someone has "a pretty face" and thats why they are a star is sort of ludicrous. There are that many hideous stars out there...well besides ludicrus (see what i did there? ).
i've seen not all but most movies of johnny depp and i think that is a good actor, is also true that is a pretty face but what are you looking about an actor? first, his expressivity that inevitably depends also on his pretty face, but this isn't enough to make an actor, indeed he was fine to empathize in every character that has executed.
