 6.4 Their album "Black Metal" is considered the first Black metal album..that says it all.

6.6 These guys hate everyone that doesn't like their band, their singer commited suicide..what do they do? They put a picture of it on their album cover....yea. These guys are unfortunately extremely influential. They've been involved in church burnings also :(

7.5 First big Christian Un-black metal band. They actually were threatened numerous times for playing with other Satanic/evil bands. On stage, they don't spit or drink goat blood and do rituals..they get satanic bibles and DESTROY THEM and make pagan alters and DESTROY THEM! One of the bravest bands ever!

9 Like Horde and Antestor, CM is one of the first Christian Black metal bands. They receive high praise among regular black metal bands, proving a band that is Christian is just as good as the others.

6.7 Although new and with 2 albums and an ep, AW's album In The Shadow of A Thousand Suns, is wicked popular and influential and probably my favorite black metal band.

Death Metal/Melodic Death Metal Bands
6.7 Although excellent musicians, they're known for literally..horrible/gore filled lyrics and album covers, that they're BANNED FROM PLAYING IN CERTAIN PLACES! Hugely influential.

6.9 One of the most influential death metal bands with crazzzy fast drums from Mike Smith. Their first 2 albums, the growling is so low..with lyrics, it's very difficult to hear what he's saying hahaha

6.5 Influential death metal band with Satanic lyrics, which spawned off some more death metal with black metal like..lyrics. I personally detest this band, but they are very influential.

7.1 Fast, Egyptian lyrics, mythology, Egyptian instruments..all excellent and unique.

Gothic/Symphonic/Power Metal
6.2 Considering this isn't an older genre, rather relatively new, Therion is One of the first death metal bands to incorporate symphonic elements, thus creating : Symphonic Metal or Melodic Death Metal.

6.8 Great bands like Epica have had been greatly influenced by this operatic symphonic metal band. Nightwish is verry popular selling millions of records.

7.8 My favorite band that is Symphonic. Simone's voice is operatic and lovely, highly praises Nightwish and Epica is influencing lots of bands currently.

8 Power Metal band! These guys are crazy and one of the earliest power metal bands ever. Influenced Dragonforce...'nuff said hahaha

7.1 Very similar to EPica, After Forever is a big influential band, that is unfortunate no longer in existence.

5.7 You would need to under a rock to not know Dragonforce, they're amazing melodicness and SHRED FESTS are astounding and well known. They're on their way to selling more gold albums!

And it isn't a band's fault that a picture of their dead singer is put on a BOOTLEG release of their music. There has never been an official Mayhem release with that cover.
