The Player has the longest one-shot take ever for its opening scenes. I'd say it deserves to be here as well.

You're right, it's an excellent opening sequence, but my list is mostly about "title" sequences and their visual and artistic aspects (design, animation, fonts, backgrounds, colors, music and so on and their unusual/creative/imaginative/superb/effective use) :)
