6. Howl's Moving Castle (2004)


Film based on Diana Wynne Jones' novel of the same name. Mamoru Hosoda, director of one season and two movies from the Digimon series, was originally selected to direct but left the project, so Miyazaki take up the director's role. Nominated for Oscar, another 8 wins and 13 nominations.

A short animated film, a thirteen minute sequel to My Neighbor Totoro. Miyazaki did the voice of the Neko Ba-chan and Totoro.

Don't forget The Castle of Cagliostro, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, and My Neighbor Totoro.

Thank you for posting this! I applaud anyone bringing attention to the most imaginative animator the world has ever known! And wow I never knew he did all these shorts including a sequel to Totoro!! I am going to go see Ponyo today! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Miyazaki!!
