....did not know half of those lines were unscripted! 'Star Wars', 'Jaws' and 'Taxi Driver' are the best!

I am not sure, and I don't know how to be about that, but..
I think that most of the lines and actions of Tom Hanks in [Cast Away] were unscripted !! especially the scene when he tries to lit a fire, and all his dancing and screaming after that !!

The Dumb and Dumber scene was so hilarious when I first saw it!

you should add the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark where Harrison Ford faces off against that swordsman because that was unscripted. Harrison Ford was actually suffering from dysentery and prompted to just, "shoot the sucker" and the fight scene was scrapped

The whole movie Rampage (2009) by Uwe Boll was entirely improvised.
Posted: 4 years, 5 months ago at Apr 2 3:48
you should also add Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from 1971. The reactions of the actors in some scenes are spontaneous. For example, when the children first enter the Chocolate Room and see the candy gardens, their reactions are real, it was really their first view of that particular set.

Very cool list! "Like tears in the rain" is one of the great movie quotes of all time. However, you have a picture from Knocked Up when you reference 40-Year-Old Virgin on #22--I'm dyin' to know what scene you're talking about!

In Kramer vs. Kramer, the scene in the restaurant where Dustin Hoffman sweeps the wine glass off the table was a planned moment unbeknownst to the entire cast and crew besides the cameraman and Hoffman himself. The desired reaction was fantastic.

Great list! I've got two more:
1)They Live: The fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David in the alleyway was only supposed to be for ten seconds, but it broke out into an actual fight between the two actors. John Carpenter thought it was so good that he made no attempt to break it up and told the camera guy to continue rolling until they finished.

2)Alien: During the filming of the classic chest-burster scene, director Ridley Scott didn't tell the actors what exactly would happen. Their reactions towards the spewing of blood were genuine, and Veronica Cartwright actually had an onscreen panic attack when some of the blood spewed onto her.
