Entwhistle had a great bass style. He played it like a guitar rather than just pluck the strings to keep the beat.
McCartney's bass was underrated in my opinion. Just listen to the bass lines in 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' from Abbey Road and you will see what I mean.
I don't know if I would have rated Geddy Lee at number 1, but he is an amazing bassist as well. In concert, he has to play keyboards and bass (using foot pedals) at the same time for some songs.
John Paul Jones was another one who was not given the credit due to him. Although overshadowed by Plant's stage presense and banshee screams, Page's guitar heroics, and even Bonham's bombastic drumming, Jones was a very skilled producer, arranger, keyboardist, and yes, a great bassist as well. He even played the recorder at the intro to 'Stairway To Heaven'.
