Since seeing "Fargo" i have loved all movies by them (maybe not "Intolerable Cruelty" and "The Ladykillers" but lets not talk about that), being honest it doesn't matter how weird are they, they know how to make cinema.
"Alien 3" was his first movie and was not as good as the later, "Seven " and "Fight Club" were early masterpieces, he had some mistakes with "The game" and "Panic Room" but returned with "Zodiac", "The Social network" is his latest film and is easily one of his best.
I never have been able to concentrate well to see "Pi", but then I saw "Requiem for a Dream" and "The Wrestler" it showed me that he really is a great director, I am missing 2 of his works but I think it will be equally cool.
"Boogie Nights" was a great movie and "Punch-Drunk Love" is clearly undervalued, having said that, I still have to see 2 of his films which are considered masterpieces; it's taking him some time to see make his next proyect, but i think that we should let him in peace.
Gondry's movies are not for everyone, but they are always interesting to see, his most recents films are trying to attract more audience but you could say that Gondry loses some of its originality in the way.
I've only have seen "Being John Malkovich" but I found it original and fun, I still have to see "The Orchid Thief" and "Where the Wild Things Are", it seems that Jonze is taking time to see what will be his next project.
Tarantino's cinema is great and almost unique, although none has had many imitators reaches its height, the reason that heat this is place is because I say that he should have done "True Romance" and "natural born killers", that and the fact that his performances makes me a little upset.
"District 9 " is one of the best science-fiction movies of recent years, it is good to show parallels with apartheid, his next movie "Elysium" plans to do something like that again, besides being a tribute to "Blade Runner".
According to me he is a director a bit undervalued, some of his films for children are not very good and that is why we are a bit low, besides that "Roadracers" is hard to achieve and the sequel to "Sin City" is taking too long.
"Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" is a great movie, it's funny and has good mystery, I thought it would be his only movie, but now that there are emerging news that he will direct "Iron-man 3" and "Death Note ", I'm starting to think that he will have a great return.
"Narc" from Carnahan is brutal and Noir and it was a great piece for his beginnings, his next two films have not been so well received, but this does not mean they are bad, he just makes them for fun, now that "The Grey" is in production I hope that he can do "White Jazz" and "Killing Pablo".
Von Trier is a very particular director, almost none of his films is like the previous one and in fact no other that seems to exist; his most famous works being "The Idiots", "Dogville" and "Antichrist", and as I said earlier none of them is similar to each other.
My opinion is that Snyder is a good director and that he just likes to make adaptations of other's works because he believes they deserve it, "Sucker Punch" will be his first original work and although maybe is not going to pleasure all, I hope something fun and good.
I Think that this are the most greatest directors of this new era.
