Great 1990s Films You May Have Missed
Much better than Schindler's List - since the Nazis should be mocked, rather than taken seriously.
Goofoff's rating:
First part of a wonderful double feature (the other part is "My Mother's Castle") adaptation of two of Marcel Pagnol's novels.
Goofoff's rating:
Sheila Florance (who was dying of cancer as the film was shot) stars in Paul Cox's moving story a woman dying of cancer. Not as morbid as it sounds.
Goofoff's rating:
Funny how the Aussies make great 'coming of age' films (see "Walkabout," "The Year My Voice Broke," etc.).
Goofoff's rating:
Great dark comedy from the makers of "Amelie" and "City of Lost Children."
Goofoff's rating:
Intriguing alternative Beatles history from a GLTB point of view.
(Why does Safari think I misspelled "Beatles"?) Goofoff's rating:
Maybe the best movie of the 1990s. Why isn't Amelio better known?
Goofoff's rating:
Ken Loach's story of a working-class English father dedicated to buying a first communion dress for his father may be more relevant today than back in the early 1990s. Intense, emotional film about those most affected by 'austerity.'
