This could so easily have been called 'McFly - the Promotion'. British band McFly try to break the American market by playing the role of... A British Band called McFly trying to break the American Market.
The movie includes single played by band trying to get a start, band recording a new single, band playing Planet Hollywood, with a little scene when the drummer gets lost behind the scenes. If you like McFly then this isn't that bad a movie. But unlucky for everyone else! Nonfictionguy's rating:
Not as good as 'Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World', but still a really good, updated and different version. Why did it make the list, well the ending is almost ruined by a 'cram it in' appearance by the band 'Smash Mouth' with their latest single. Not necessary - but thankfully it's only at the end of what otherwise is a decent movie.
Nonfictionguy's rating:
As with Rat Race, a decent enough movie, but what is LeAnn Rimes doing in it?
Nonfictionguy's rating:
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Ok they don't need a break.

Letters To Cleo/Save Ferris
Nonfictionguy's rating:
The Yardbirds - Another band that doesn't need the hype.

Everyone needs a break, but I hate how some movies cram a band act into a movie for no reason other than to assist them promote their newest album or single. Here is a list of the worst offenders that I'm aware of from memory - can you tell I recently watched 'Just My Luck' and got very annoyed by McFly?! I've added a few, which aren't so annoying, but perhaps that's just down to my taste in music. Please do suggest others that we should be wary of. Note: This list doesn't include musicals and movies about Music/Artists. I'm happy with 'Purple Rain' and the like, its just those movies that are selling bands by stealth, which annoy me!

and there the Olsen Twins movie, New York Minute, that I bet a lot of crazy fans have watched just because Simple Plan was on it. :)
