I loved the first Portal game. It was very unique experience and I'm glad they made a sequel to it. Portal 2 is pretty much the same game as the first one with few new things, and every single puzzle is not set in testing chambers. This game's dialogue is once again great like I expected. I also love the post-apocalyptic kinda setting this game has. I really got the feeling I'm like all alone in this world sometimes, and that was kinda scary.
I really have just one word to describe this game: epic. Epicness level is through the roof in almost every single colossi fight and those fights are just freaking awesome. Even though the game is pretty much it. You travel with your horse to fight colossis and this game just doesn't need anything else. Atmosphere is just great and it is also visually very beautiful. I had some problems with the controls first but I got used to them. If you did miss the game on PS2, just buy the HD version. It's worth every penny.
I've wanted to play this game since I played the second game. I really liked it because it was way more fun than GTA IV. Last august I bought PS3 and I found this to be free for Plus members. Of course I had to download it and play it. This was way more hilarious than the second Saints Row. I pretty much laughed my ass off. More you played the story the more WTF this game gets. Just hilarious. I cannot even think how freakin' insane the fourth instalment will be.
Status: Story completed. Some hours spent on multiplayer
Well written story and visually great shooter from Rockstar. Yes, it was kinda weird to imagine Max Payne in sunny Brazil but god damn that works. I just love the games visual style so much and Max Payne's narration through game is just great. And also, gameplay is just freakin' awesome. I'm kinda sad that my friends don't play this anymore. Multiplayer in this game is really fun and great way to spent some time.
One of the best games I've ever played. Everything in this game is just pure fun. Climbing radiotowers. Killing endangered species and turning them into leather wallets and stuff. Capture enemy bases. Collecting treasures etc. Vaas is great villain and the main guy's character development is really interesting to watch.
Only bad thing I can say is the optional endings. They both suck.
I have the HD collection for my Xbox 360, but only played this one. I have not even started MGS3 or Peace Walker.
I decided to play this first, because this is the one that I have nostalgia for. This is the only MGS game that I owned when I was a kid. (And I still have that PS2 version) And I have to say it still works like the same. It isn't a masterpiece but still very great game.
Right after Revelations, I decided to order this even though I had very little expectations for this.
First couple of hours was really boring stuff but it starts to get more interesting. This time the main character is native american Connor, who is pretty much boring when compared to Ezio. Connor has no charisma at all. Connor is just the main character, but you don't have anything to say about him. He's that damn boring.
The gameplay is pretty much the same as in the previous games.
I finally got to play this after a long pause from this series. First AC is actually very boring and repetitive. Second one maybe best in the series and I really loved it. Brotherhood is also very fun to play, but not as good as the second one. I actually likes Revelations more than Brotherhood, even though there isn't that much difference, except a few minor upgrades in weapons and that thing that makes climbing lot more faster.
Again I loved the same things what I loved in previous games. I love to climb to every freakin tower and jump off them. Jumping on the roofs, climbing to towers are just like my favourite things in ths series. Even though the engine can be pain in the ass sometimes, and you die because of it.
I really don't care about the sci-fi story in these. It is somehow so silly.
I was really impressed about the first one, so I had to get the sequel. Sadly, FEAR2 isn't that good. It just didn't feel the same. Shooting is still fun, and there is much more jumpscares, but somehow those didn't work in the same way. But this is not a bad game. It's good, but nothing special. Just fun to play once and I enjoyed it.
I've never been a fan of horror games, but this shooter really interested me so I bought it cheap from Steam sales. And it was really worth of every penny. Great shooter in every way. Enemies AI is really, really good and those fuckers can get around you from every way. And there is also the scary part. FEAR is basically just jump scares but they work like that. Sometimes it really scared the shit of me (maybe because I've never watched of played anything.. horror). Alma is a bitch. I forgot to mention the bullet time and it is gold. Works greatly and is really needed to beat this, or I'm just so bad player.
Wonderful visual novel-like game that takes like an hour to complete. Music, visuals and narrative story are very well packed together that made a very beautiful experience. Even though there isn't that much gameplay in it (you move your character from place to another), somehow Dear Esther is very fascinating. One of the greatest indie games from recent years.
Status: Story completed once. Some hours spent on multiplayer.
Entertaining Halo game. It is a good thing that 343 Industries didn't fuck up the series. They made this pretty much their own kinda Halo, not taking every part from Bungie and added something new to it. Gun arsenal is much bigger, it is visually different looking. Multiplayer is much more all of Duty-like, which is kinda negative thing but yes, it is fun to play. Like I said from other Halo games, greatest way to enjoy this is with friends. Once again I played the story in co-op, with my ex.
Retro-style murder simulator that is so much fun and a great way to kill time. Game is pretty short, which is a good thing. Killing won't go boring. Game is mainly the same: you get a mission, you go to the level and kill everyone with various weapons from baseball bats to machine guns. Greatest thing about the game is the kick-ass soundtrack, which is one of the best I've ever heard. So cool to kill bunch of people when 80's style synthpop plays on background. One of the most fun indie games from recent years and I can't wait for the sequel.
One of the best games from past few years. I would say this is a masterpiece, but I didn't like those boss fights that much. Or maybe I just sucked at those so much. But that doesn't ruin the experience. Story is great, game is visually stunning and gameplay rocks. I really need to play this again sometime. So much ways to play this.
Status: Played adventure mode once and arcade mode few times
I played the adventure mode like last years summer so It has been a while. But what can I say? It's freakin Super Smash Bros! There isn't that much changes from Melee and it is pretty much a good thing. It works just like it needs. And of course, game is in it's best when playing with friends. Great entertainment it is. And also good way to kill some time when you don't have anything else to do.
Bought this from Steam. Thank you Christmas sales! Took me almost a half year to play the last few chapters. Great game from start to finish. I just have to praise the visual part of the game. This game will be remembered for it, and now only because of it. Great puzzles that can really be pain in the ass. And when your nervers are about to crack, you get it. Puzzles look like impossible but in reality, they are really simple when you get them. Visually beautiful, hard but not too hard and fun.
Got this almost free from Steam so I had to buy this. It was worth every penny. The dialogue in this is just so hilarious and puzzles are really fun (even sometimes I wanted to throw my laptop from window because a few difficult puzzles). Portal is just unique experience and I can understand why it has such a reputation. I'm kinda sad that this only lasted like 2 hours, because I really wanted more after this. Well, I have the sequel now and I'm going to play it when I've completed few other games.
Sports games are kinda difficult to put on these lists, but I played this game like two weeks in a row so I got my opinion about it: It's awesome.
I have not watched MMA that much. Few UFC PPV's and that's about it. Reason for it is, that in one PPV there can be like few actually good matches. Rest of them are just boring. MMA in its best can be very entertaining, and boring in its worst.
I first downloaded the demo and I just loved it. Right after that I had to order this. For my first UFC game, it was very pleasing experience. The fighting mechanic is just too great and every single match is fun to play. WWE games really need to take some learning from this. I've been playing WWE games since child so this is really refreshing choice, because WWE games have been the same since the first WWE SmackDown! game. Even though pro wrestling and MMA isn't the same thing but very similar.
I have played the career mode few times with different characters and there is still lot to play. Like few extra modes they have in this, few of them are just too damn difficult for me. I've tried to collect some achievement too but god damn those can be tricky. And because of THQ went backrupt, I can never get the multiplayer achievements, or even play this online. It's sad because this game is hell of a fun online.
I haven't played this since like last autumn but I still think this is one of the greatest sports games ever created. It is so much fun and I will again play this. Only thing that I can criticize is the loading times, but that would be nitpicking. I would like to give this full five stars but I really have to play this more. Great game.
I bought MadWorld because it looked like a fun game. Well it is fun, but problem is that it is just the same thing over and over. You kill bad guys with different ways to get points. When you have enough points, you get to boss fight. In every map, there is always some kind of mini game, and those were my favourites. It is fun to have various ways to kill people but you really need something more than that if you want to keep your game interesting. You always need more points when going to next level and it really starts to be just boring grinding. You see the same bad guys over and over and you use the same tactics over and over.
Status: Story played. Still need to unlock some bonus stages and collecting all the stars.
As great as the second Galaxy game. I kinda liked Mario Galaxy 2's stage menus and the Mario ship more than the observatory of this game. Besides that, it is pretty much the same kinda game as the second part and it works just like that. Both Mario Galaxy games are must-buy for Wii, if you have one.
Status: Story played. Still need to unlock some bonus stages and collecting all the stars.
I got Wii as a graduation present from my parents. I got Wii Sports Resort and this with the console. I was pretty excited to play new Mario game because the last Mario I've played before this was Mario 64.
And I loved every second of it. The game is beautiful. Level design is just incredible. Gameplay is excellent and it is just pure fun. Nintendo can still make a great platformer game. I still need to play this some day because I have so much stars to collect to get all the bonus levels. Sometimes getting stars can be pretty difficult and it can be really annoying. Defeating Bowser every time was maybe too easy, so that's kinda dissapointing.
I played this game like three days in a row to the point where you start the arsonist missions. In that point I lost my interest to the game. Game feels very long because missions were pretty much repetitive. You do the same thing over and over pretty much from start to finish. You drive to the crime scene, you investigate it, you find clues, you interview people, drive more, catch one of the suspects, interviewing more people and at the end of the case you solve the crime. That is my biggest problem with the game. Sometimes it is fun but when the game isn't anything else than that, it starts to get boring.
I still don't hate the game. It is just too long. Gameplay is very good. Sometimes the cases are actually much fun. I also love the noir setting. 40's LA just looks great. With less repetitive crime cases, this could have been one of the best Rockstar games ever. Now it is just and average game.
Maybe some day I could play this to the end. When I have the motivation to do that.
I've tried to start the first Halo many, many times before with the original Xbox, but somehow I always stopped playing at some point. Reason for it is pretty much company. Like I said before, I get a lot more out of these games with a friend. So, I loaned this remake from a friend of mine and started this with my ex. I was kinda scared that 343 Industries would fuck this up, but they didn't. This is pretty much the same Halo 1 with better graphics and same control system than Halo: Reach. And that was only good thing.
First Halo is pretty much considered one of the greatest first person shooters of all time. I can't agree with that. At some points I didn't have so much fun playing this. More closer you get to the end, more difficult it gets. Few times I was like ready to throw the controller out from the window because it really gets hard. There is a one level that needs to played two times. Second time we go it backwards and in that point I was just losing my nerves.
Despite a few flaws, it is still a good game. I still had much fun with it. Like other Halo games, it is great with co-op. Still would recommend buying this remake, especially if you never had a chance to play it on first Xbox.
Status: Completed campaign mode in co-op. Many hours spent on multiplayer.
After Halo 3, we decided to play this one too. This is my favourite of the Halo series games. Maybe because this is the first one that I owned (before this I've only played the third with friends). I've played campaign few times by myself but of course, co-op makes it even better. Levels in campaign are pretty much perfect, I like all of them. Also in this point developers decided to make a few moves with controls, that makes gameplay better. This game also brought permanent abilities to Halo series like armor lockup, jetpack, sprint etc. that I pretty much like.
Multiplayer is just one of my favourites. I have spent so much hours with that. Always fun and great way to spend some time. Some older fans kinda dissapointed with multiplayer because the ranking system was removed from this. I never had the opportunity to play Halo 3 multiplayer so I can't say anything about it. I was pleased with multiplayer in Reach, so I don't have anything to complain about it.
Played this with my ex-girlfriend, who also likes the series. Halo games are meant to be played with a friend. You'll get much more out of them than playing all alone. Third Halo is pretty much enjoyable sci-fi first person shooter. I'm not the biggest fan of FPS games, but somehow Halo is one of those that I really do like.
Going to play
Games I have in my collection, going to play them. I could add like million games more into this, but these are first in the line.
I decided to translate my whole diary in english, even though it is not great.
Consoles I own: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, NDS, PS1, Sega Megadrive/Genesis and NES. And yes, collecting consoles is kind of a hobby for me. I also play games on PC, mostly indie, strategy and those ones that runs on my shitty laptop.
