US Bias, and I think you'll find some things started to change a lot sooner than quoted!

First lesbian kiss
Was in 1991 with a kiss on L.A. Law episode "He's a Crowd" between C.J. Lamb and Abby Perkins. In 1993, on Brookside (Soap), featured the first lesbian kiss on British television, with Anna Friel's character kissed Nicola Stephenson.

You have to go back to 1971 with All In The Family

First openly gay teenager
Oranges are not the only fruit aired on BBC in 1990, starring Charlotte Coleman. Four years before My So Called Life

First kiss between two men on UK Primetime TV 1960 (and it was with Sean Connery!)

Oh it's defiantely US Bias. Here in the US we don't even have access to most foreign shows.

I think I Spy had the first black main character on a DRAMATIC series. In the 50s, there was Amos and Andy and the Buelha show.

Of course, we are talking about American TV, what else?

Ralph on Green Acres was clearly the first lesbian TV character.
