That's tricky one... You're making a list assuming we all love the same things... A nice concept but unfortunately we actually all love different stuff...

For example, I think Forrest Gump is one of the most annoying movie characters ever created and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one

yeah, I know, you're right about that :) but these films are very popular as I see and yes, not everybody loves them, because we are different.

Some of these movies I do love, others not so much. But I do agree with you about Amelie.

Anyway, here are some of MY fave movies:
- The Godfather esp Part 1 (still the BEST movie ever)
- The Shawshank Redemption (which I love better than Forrest Gump that year in 1994)
- Chocolat
- Memoirs of a Geisha
- ANY movies by my fave director David Lynch esp Mulholland Dr.
- Three Colors: Blue
- My Fair Lady (starring Audrey Hepburn)
- Breakfast at Tiffany (again, an Audrey Hepburn classic)
- movies by one of my most fave actresses, Meryl Streep, such as Sophie's Choice, A Cry in the Dark, The Manchurian Candidate, and The Devil Wears Prada.

... and many more. Those are just some I have at the top of my head right now.
