Contains scenes of drug use, racial prejudice, amputation and sexual abuse. Young adults pay a disproportionately harsh price for their youthful endeavours.

Description
These are films that I have seen that I would find uncomfortable to sit through again. They are so successful at building up intensity and emotion that the ultimate misery that bestows the main characters in the long run is too much to bear! I guess being on this list is generally a compliment.

Well, I'd agree with you but (nearly) every film deserves at least two viewings. And in the case of REQUIEM FOR A DREAM - more!
