1. Some Like It Hot

I have always enjoyed the classic Hollywood character actors who never became stars but whose presence in every film was welcomed by us picturegoers. MIKE MAZURKI was one of my particular favourites and I was fortunate in my job as a Hollywood Tour Operator to have met him several times. I discussed with him some of his films and asked how he got on with Marilyn Monroe during the filming of "Some Like it Hot". He told me many anecdotes about her and apparently liked her very much.

Description

MIKE MAZURKI has been one of my favourite character actors for many many years. I was delighted to meet him in Hollywood when he and his wife attended some of our "celebrity events". He is instantly recognisable wherever he goes and we were constantly being interrupted by his fans when we were having a conversation about his many Hollywood movies and the major stars he has worked with including Marilyn Monroe in "Some Like it Hot", Tyrone Power in "Nightmare Alley" and probably his best known role as Moose Malone with Dick Powell in "Farewell My Lovely" (also known as "Murder My Sweet").
