J. T. WALSH is a name probably not that well known to most moviegoers but he was a fine and respected character actor who appeared in many prestigious films. Unfortunately he died in 1998 of a heart attack aged only 55 after appearing in more than 50 films. (He was on holiday at the time of his death). I enjoyed his work very much and thought he was outstanding as the corrupt sheriff in "Red Rock West" (1993) and again as a villain in the dramatic thriller "Breakdown" (1997). Among his other films are: "A Few Good Men", "The Narrow Margin", "The Client", "Miracle on 34th Street", "House of Games", "Things Change", "Backdraft", "The Last Seduction", "Misery", "The Grifters", "Hoffa", "Hannah and her Sisters", "Nixon", "Tin Men", "Executive Decision", "Pleasantville", "The Negotiator" etc. When Jack Nicholson won his best actor Oscar for "As Good As It Gets" in 1998 he dedicated it to J. T. Walsh.
