Description

Filmfare Awards is the most prominent awards ceremony for Bollywood/Hindi films, organized by Filmfare magazine and held annually since 1954. Awards are decided by both popular votes and film critics. In addition to the popular categories, there's a separate Critics Award category for best film and best performance.

Filmfare Awards wasn't held in 1987 and 1988, so there are no winners for 1986 and 1987.

In 2005, to celebrate the 50th Filmfare Awards, Sholay (1975) was given a special award as the "Best Film of 50 Years".
