I love this list but the first two I though of were Bacall and Marlene Dietrich! Dietrich should definitely be on there.

Actually, this is a list about femmes fatales in film noir (mostly american movies from 1940 to 1959). Marlene Dietrich's characters are precursors (ante-litteram) of the "Noir Femmes Fatales". She is and was a "Femme Fatale" for antonomasia, par excellence, but technically speaken not a "Noir Femme Fatale" since she played that role mostly in the '30s (Der Blaue Engel, Morocco, Dishonored, Shanghai Express, Blonde Venus, ...) or in non-noir movies (Seven Sinners, The Flame of New Orleans, Manpower, ...). Nevertheless, maybe I give her a special mention...

I suggest adding Jean Gillie. Considering the noirs, Decoy is not the best in my books, but pretty certainly her performance in it is easily one of the most grim and evil of em all. I kinda think her as an ultimate caricature of "femme fatale". It's really so psychotic performance that it almost tops Cagney's Cody Jarrett... almost. :P

This is by far the most comprehensive Noir Femme Fatale listing I've seen yet! It really brought to mind some of the gorgeous leading ladies I've been forgetting to add to my list of models for Noir novellas! Thanks for creating it!
