1. A Star Is Born (1954)

How Judy Garland didn't get an Oscar for this incredible performance, I really don't know. James Mason's performance was also great. Truly a beautiful movie, with amazing songs, of course, delivered by The Worl's Greatest Entertainer.

2. The Clock (1945)

One of Judy's 3 nonsinging roles, out of her 32 films, and an amazing one at that! I love this movie! They had great chemistry. Judy could do it all. :) Robert Walker makes you love him as you watch this and his other films.

The Major and the Minor Trailer
Ginger is one of my favorite actresses ever, which is one of the reasons I decided to watch it. Boy, am I glad I did! Her performance was great, so was that pf Ray Milland and the other cast. The story is just really adorable and great, and I really loved this movie.

My 2nd silent movie of all time and I absolutely loved it. I had heard talk of Chaplin's brilliance but its mere level is mystifying.

7. Young Tom Edison (1940)

I think one of the most overlooked/underrated actors from the past is Mickey Rooney and it amazes me because he is an incredible actor. He recieved a Best Actor Oscar nomination when he was only 18! I consider him a brilliant actor, and she's just so cute! :) A great movie!

I am not much for musicals usually, but you have some great movies on your list.

As for Mickey Rooney, He was not the #1 box office draw in Hollywood for all those years for nothing. He and Julie Garland were considered America's sweethearts due to the films they made together.

I also agree with your assessment of Ginger Rogers, she could do everything Fred Astare could do backwards, and in heels.
