After four retries of trying to make this game Capcom has done it. Got rid of the tank controls and revamped the aiming. This is perfection at its finest! FLAWLESS!
Mr. Lays's rating:
One of the most slept on games I have ever seen! Only the truly hardcore have heard of it much less conquered it. A beast of a game it is! Grueling difficulty, a pretty cool story line, interesting characters, and an different approach to turn based combat (all this spanning four discs).
A must play if you can find it. I want a sequel! Mr. Lays's rating:
One of the few games in history that made gamers cry. You know the scene that I am referring to! This game actually is partly responsible for Nintendo's 64 losing it's share in the gaming world and Sony's PSone receiving a lot more attention.
It's a shame about all of the rubbish that comes from SquareEnix from milking this tile. Mr. Lays's rating:
Bioware amazed me with this Star Wars game. Considering the fact LucasArts seems to me that they sometimes do not give a damn about quality. The story is one of the best in any Star Wars game. With such an amazing twist you will swear that M. Night wrote it.
Mr. Lays's rating:
This game a perfect example of Shigeru Miyamoto's genius. Many games have done the dungeon exploring thing, but none quite as masterful as this. Still till the day none has come close.
Mr. Lays's rating:
This has all the elements of an awesome RPG. Fantastic story line, memorable character, and multiple endings. And yes this was all on a SNES title. Great game that I would NOT LIKE to see get a remake. Just leave greatness as it is. Would you let somebody redo the "Mona Lisa"? I would, (just to get a different interpretation of it) but that isn't the point.
Mr. Lays's rating:
DMC 1 was a game turned the hack-n-slash gaming protocol on it's head. DMC 2 was one of the most disappointing sequels in gaming history. DMC 3 brought it back to greatness with a difficultly level that rivaled "Ninja Gaiden".
Mr. Lays's rating:
Once again Microsoft owes Bungie more gratitude that they deserve. "Halo: Combat Evolved" and the "Halo" series secured Microsoft's endeavor into the video game business. Without this game what other game would help the Xbox name carry on? "Fuzion Frenzy"! Yeah that would save them!
"Halo" was a bit over hyped, but it reinforced what "GoldenEye" (N64) proved all along: FPS could be done on consoles. Mr. Lays's rating:
Not nearly as many extracurricular activities to do as "San Andreas" so fans of that may be upset. The story line of this is much more mature and the writing is some of the best in any video game. (The ads are ingenious!) Definitely a must play if you are even somewhat a fan of the series.
Mr. Lays's rating:
As aforementioned Devil May Cry is responsible for spawning a slew of impostors (even from it's own company Capcom!) and groundbreaking the average action game formula.
Mr. Lays's rating:
This game will make you fell like a complete bad ass!
Bonus if you are a fan of Greek mythology. Mr. Lays's rating:
Xbox Live owns Bungie a great deal of gratitude. Why? This helped Xbox Live establish itself as a online mega power. The only real con though is the cliffhanger of an ending.
Mr. Lays's rating:
The insanely popular and insanely unbalanced game is probably the most fun you will ever have playing a fighting game. If online play was possible plenty of death threats would have been made due to balancing issues.
Pure fun nevertheless. If anyone know where I can purchase this game for less than $50 let me know. Yes I am serious e-mail me! Mr. Lays's rating:
Capcom loves difficult yet unique games. And we love them for making difficult yet unique. And "Viewtiful Joe" can attest to this. I love this game! The only thing that deters this game is the (yep you guessed it) the difficulty. Awesome nevertheless.
Much respect/props to Clover Studios! Mr. Lays's rating:
Fact: "Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare" once shut down the Xbox Live Servers. Due to massive online gaming!
How awesome is that?! 'Nuff said! Play this damn game already! Mr. Lays's rating:
The template of what many wrestling games aspired to be. Even the ugliness of the N64's graphic rendering, mediocre controls, and god-awful music could not stop this from being a hit.
Mr. Lays's rating:
One touted as one of the most expensive games ever developed (between $20 to $70 million depending on where you get your info) and even being held partly responsible for the death of the Dreamcast "Shenmue" was still a masterpiece.
Developed by the veteran Yu Suzki and AM2 it is one of those games that make gamers' hearts fill up with moments of joy. Joy quickly turns to hate when they mention that the story may never be concluded. Xbox ported "Shenmue II", but by that time most of the hardcore imported it on Dreamcast and much interest was lost in the title. Hope still remains of a possible "Shenmue III" to tie up the loose ends, but nobody is holding their breath. Useless info: It was once stated (by a SEGA suit) that in order to make a profit on "Shenmue" every single owner of a Dreamcast would have to buy TWO COPIES of the game. So their may be some truth to the matter that this game killed Dreamcast. (And possibly almost made SEGA bankrupt.) Do you have a passion for wondering a huge Tokyo metropolis and beating up random thugs who accompany colorful bosses? Great I knew that you did! So go play the spiritual successor to "Shenmue" called "Yakuza". Mr. Lays's rating:
I have never did any hard drugs in my life. But if it is anything like this game sh*t am I in trouble! Sega is the first console to successfully take the gaming community online. (And all the consoles that came later owe Sega a great deal of gratitude.) This game along with 2k Sports excellent games made people realize that online gaming could be done.
Fact: "PSO" once kept me up for 2 days straight. Hardly ate, didn't socialize, and didn't take a shower either. Not one of my proudest moments. Or should I get some hardcore gamer props? Mr. Lays's rating:
The best of the series if you ask me. Missions are so diverse in location that you may get sick due to all of the traveling. Go in their guns blazin' or like Leon:The Professional it's your choice. It is nice not to be penalized for going in the mission like a madman unlike later sequels of the series. If you have patience this game is a must play to explore all of the alternate ways to eliminate your target.
Mr. Lays's rating:
Bitch of an game. The reboot of the iconic yet overly difficult franchise remains the same. Shame that developer still have not got the hang of where a camera should be in an action game.
Mr. Lays's rating:
One of my first PC games. Damn how gangster is it calling a hit on another boss while you sit in an AC cooled room in your underwear. I bet being a gangster is as easy as that in real life.

Just imagine if everyone in the world (even people who didn't own a Dreamcast) purchased Shenmue we may have been playing Dreacast #3 right now. Damn Sony with their fancy DVD players.

I agree on a few of those, though have never played a lot of them. Impressive list though.
