A list of my favorite cuisine: I was born in London, England to an English father and a Polish mother so I was exposed to both English and Polish food from an early age.

Black pudding is the work of Satan, it should be banned from existence. How dare they take something as glorious as the banger and inflict such putridness upon it. It ranks up there with green snot on pie & mash... madness I tell ye!

Ha! Well I love it. White pudding is nice too. Thanks for your vote. :)

You are welcome, Yorkshire pudding saved the day... now that's a proper pudding, not like that pretend sausage!
Posted: 4 years, 6 months ago at Dec 7 16:28
My mother lives in France and she can't buy Yorkshire pudding in her small village so I regularly send her parcels of Goldenfry Yorkshire Pudding Mix!

u never eat feijoada ;x

Nice to see Polish cuisine here! Yesterday I was doing bigos for Christmas. I will also do pierogi i gołąbki, but pierogi will be in a little more modern version - with spinach and feta cheese.

Sarah Raquel, I'd not heard of feijoada before but it sounds nice. "The savory black bean and meat stew known as feijoada is the national dish of Brazil, traditionally enjoyed for lunch on Saturday." Thank you for the suggestion and your vote. :)

Villiana, I normally eat Polish food on Christmas Eve and English food on Christmas Day - the best of both worlds! Thanks for your vote and comment. :)

Tasty list. My first meal when I go back to London is either a full English breakfast with a pint of Guinness, or fish and chips with Magners cider. Now I cannot wait to get back there. Cheers.
Posted: 4 years, 5 months ago at Jan 5 12:23
this list needs a traditional English Christmas dinner which makes the full English breakfast seem like a lightweight snack

xxixii, I love a traditional English Christmas dinner too! I have just added turkey to my list. Rath, I do like my desserts! Sorry to make you hungry, Tulipa. English food is the thing I miss most when I am overseas cfcblue. Thank you all for your votes! :)

nice food Kathy i ate full english breakfast last time i was in Uk, with Cumberland sausages :) i ate golabki well i seem i had , are leaves of cabbage with mince meat inside... ?
Posted: 4 years, 2 months ago at Mar 28 18:22
Mostly golabki uses meat but my family has mushrooms instead. So it is rice and mushrooms wrapped in cabbage leaves to make small parcels and then mushroom sauce is poured over them!

I hope this is how my future will look. :p I live in Germany currently but I was born in Poland and want to move to England soon. So most likely lots of polish specialties will still be part of us but of course we will try lots and lots of new English food. @_@

Isabella: There are lots of Polish people in England now - especially in London - with their own Polish language newspapers and radio stations. Most shops stock Polish food so you wouldn't be too homesick if you lived here. :)

I can't say I would ever eat pigeon since well I live in America. I'm not sure how they could be appealing :P Anyways nice list otherwise. I have polish roots so I love me some perogies, plotskis , and golabkis
Posted: 3 years, 9 months ago at Sep 13 12:04
BAMF: Wild pigeons - such as wood pigeons - are very different to the urban variety. They taste similar to other game birds such as guinea fowl and partridge. :D

Wow ! look at all those views and votes Kat... your pleasure for good food and for some sweet tiny pigeons is popular like my babes list (lol)

Seeing the pierogi ruskie and golabki bring back good childhood memories, except we called them vareniki and golubtsy.

Grammar Nazi: You spelt favourite without the letter 'u' in there? Imposter! ;)
Posted: 2 years, 4 months ago at Jan 27 3:35
To my great shame, I've hardly dipped into much Polish cuisine, but from what I've tried it definitely warrants further attention. I actually need to thank renowned food critic Jay Rayner for that though, because without his help, I may never have known there were Polish restaurants near where I live. It was a review by him that prompted me to check one out, and considering his roasting of many a fine-dining establishments, it's rare to see such glowing praise from a picky gourmet like him.
Posted: 2 years, 4 months ago at Jan 27 6:18
I hope you'll get the opportunity to try more Polish food soon and that you enjoy it. :)
Posted: 2 years, 4 months ago at Jan 27 10:20
SWF: Being English, I do normally spell the word 'favourite' using a 'u' but, as this in an American site and the original 8 'favorite' lists provided on our profiles are spelt without a 'u', I decided to go with the flow for consistency. :)
