These are in my opinion the most talented actors and actresses in the past or present. The talent in some cases might also mean great talents as a comic. No suprises here, if that's what you're after.
Idle, Chapman and Palin but no John Cleese? That's interesting and something I really would like to know reasons for. :P
Fine list still, though we might have an argument about De Niro's and Pacino's place on this list, for I can think of a dozen better and more versatile actors from the spot: Alec Guinness, Burt Lancaster, Greg Peck, Emil Jannings, Joan Crawford, Alain Delon and Buster Keaton to name a few. But of course this is something completely matter of an opinion, personal taste and one's state of mind at the moment.
Yet I give my respects for adding Bill Murray on this list. Easily one of the best living american actors there is. :)
Yes, Cleese surely would fit there, but I found it a bit too boring to list all the Pythons on the same list. ;)
I agree on the fact that Pacino and De Niro are two choises that are a huge cliché on a list of this sort. But since they both had a huge impact for my film loving back in the "early days", I quite can't put them out the list.
Just to make it clear to everyone, the title of this list isn't something to be taken seriously, not that I think that someone has done that. :)
Denzel Washington, Sean Connery, Brad Pitt? They are the current guys who i think should be on the list. Upcoming names to watch, Vivi Devereaux and Micah Sloat.
Very nice list. Though I have some comments:
1)Maria Falconetti, she was great in Passion of Jean de Arc, but she only has a handful of movies.
2)Klaus Kinski could be the greatest actor ever with such legendary exploits, but this is an exaggeration.
3)Bruno S., playing stupid people well, nah. how about Bruno Ganz?
4)Max Von Sydow, definitely, but don't forget the other Swede stud--Gunnar Bjornstarnd
5)You could've put the whole Monty troupe together
6)Brando...Dean...and maybe Monty Clift
7)Malcolm McDowell, is good, but to trump all those great British actors?
