Favorite Influential Christian Bands

1. For Today
Genre: Hardcore with Death metal and metalcore influence

The vocalist Mattie, literally knows what's going on in the world and understands that it needs Jesus. All their lyrics are about The Bible and calling Christians to rise up, be strong, persevere and tell others about Jesus and to never give up hope.

--Due to Mattie's mini-short sermons, during their set, Some Christians even think they're "too Christian"..yea it's a shame but that's how focused they are about their love for The Lord and wanting others to share the same love.

I personally get moved by their lyrics, it's some of the best messages you'll hear that Pastor's couldn't do or reach out, in a life time..Praise The Lord for these Guys!

2. Demon Hunter
Genre: Metalcore with hardcore influence

Demon Hunter is my favorite band and their passion for "lost souls", music and crushing evil are amazing and excellent. With a gathering of "Hunters", DH carries a burden of music with a message to be heard among the masses, with a desire to destroy Satan and God's oppressors.

Although not as blatant or "gospel" as For Today, Demon Hunter constantly talks about their faith in Jesus and what their lyrics are all about.

Personally, I've had ups and downs and when others fail, Demon Hunter is real personal and helps me out with hope and a similarity of struggle. Mad props to these ear crushers.

STORM THE GATES OF HELL!

3. Third Day
This southern rock, gospel band third Day, is truly phenomenal. Their riffs and solos are killer and the singing, although similar to some Creed and Eddie Vedder, is far superior and nowhere near as annoying.

Third Day is pretty much one the most popular Christian bands selling MILLIONS of records and filling out arenas everywhere they go. Picture going to an amazing church service and this is what you get times 1000, they're awesome and quite talented.

4. Casting Crowns
Similar to Third Day, yet without that Southern feel, Casting Crowns sells out venues and millions of records. They started out as just a group of youth group leaders at a youth group playing for fun, when their youth group suggested they do it for a living..smart kids I say.

Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the hard hitting truthful lyrics their vocalists puts out with monumental singing. One of the best Praise and Worship bands clearly. Oh and they along with Third Day are Grammy Award nominees and winners.

5. Stryper
Probably the first big/well known Christian Heavy Metal band. With their provoking album To Hell With The Devil they gained great popularity, whether positive or negative hahaa. Their lyrics are quite hard hitting and with many shots at satan and his followers. However when glam metal lost it's..well..glam, came the loss of most of their popularity.

Either way, they paved the way for heavy music by Christians to shine, come forth and spread....yea the "bee suits" didn't help LOL!
