Elvira was a hot, sexy vampire who hosted horror films. She would make fun of the films in her Valley Girl sarcastic way. More importantly, she would make fun of herself. Her sexual innuendos were funny and not at all offensive. Without a doubt, sex made her the most popular horror host in television history. The nationally syndicated television series ran from 1981-86.
