Aug. 2009Also on PS3, PS2, Wii, PSP Gamespot 7.5 - A number of features make Madden NFL 10 a more realistic and enjoyable portrayal of football, but a few problems--both old and new--continue to trouble the series. Jul. 2009Also on PS3, PS2, PSP Gamespot 8.0 - Despite some presentational shortcomings and relatively minor issues here and there, NCAA Football 10 is a worthwhile update to last year's game. Jun. 2009 - Also on PS3Gamespot 8.0 - Fight Night Round 4's greatest strength is that while it's accessible and relatively easy for newcomers, it can also be challenging and rewarding for pugilism perfectionists. Jun. 2009 - Also on PS3, Wii, PS2, PSPGamespot 8.0 - As golf games go, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is tough to beat. There really is something for everyone in this sizeable package, and although there's clearly still some room for improvement, it's well worth a look even if you already own last year's game. Nov. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2Gamespot 7.0 - While there is no question that NCAA Basketball 09 still has some gameplay issues to correct, the addition of new features has made this game a viable alternative. Oct. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PC, PSP, DS, WiiIGN 8.6 - FIFA Soccer 09 is the tightest playing football on the market and has definitely raised the bar for what Pro Evolution Soccer will need to accomplish to retake the crown this year. Oct. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PSP, WiiIGN 6.5 - NBA Live 09 does have some solid moments here and there, but you'll have to fight your way through a number of inconsistent elements to fully enjoy everything it has to offer. Sep. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PCIGN 9.0 - NHL 09 isn’t just a great hockey game, it’s one of the best sports games to be released in the last decade. Sep. 2008 - Also on PS3Gamespot 7.0 - NFL Head Coach 09 delivers a deep and immersive coaching experience, provided you can overlook the outdated gameplay engine and lackluster presentation. Aug. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PSP, WiiGamespot 8.0 - Friendlier controls and a host of other improvements make Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 great. Aug. 2008 - Also PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox, DS, WiiIGN 8.8 - It looks great, plays great, and despite its few moments of inaccuracies, is still one of the best sports games in memory. Jul. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PSP, WiiGamespot 7.5 - Just as the addition of the Online Dynasty mode will satisfy many, the lack of significant improvements to other key modes of NCAA Football 09 will disappoint many others. Jun. 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2IGN 6.5 - NASCAR 09 comes across less as a tribute to the drama, intensity and flair of one of America’s favorite sports, and more as a delivery system for advertising. May 2008 - Also on PS3, PS2, PC, PSPGamespot 8.0 - Euro 2008 replicates the drama of a major international cup competition very well, but the gameplay isn't a significant enough an improvement over FIFA 08 to make it easily recommendable. Jan. 2008 - Also on PS3Gamespot 5.0 - NFL Tour would have made a great arcade game, but as a console game, it's simply too shallow to hold your interest for long. Dec. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2Gamespot 6.5 - If you're the forgiving type, willing to look past a few annoying gameplay quirks, you'll probably have a good time with the game, but it's hard to recommend to hardcore hoopsters. Oct. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2, PC, PSP, DS, WiiGamespot 8.5 - The sheer number of game modes make FIFA the most complete football game on the market, while the authenticity and quality of presentation continue to enhance the package overall. Oct. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2, PC, PSP, WiiGamespot 7.5 - It still has a long way to go before it catches up with the outstanding 2K series, but all of the little tweaks, changes, and enhancements add up to one vastly improved basketball game. Sep. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2, PCGamespot 8.5 - This is a terrific game of hockey that's both realistic and thrilling to play, a combo that's often difficult to achieve in sports games. Aug. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2, PC, PSP, DS, WiiGamespot 6.5 - The PlayStation 3 has the fewest issues and plays better than the 360, so it's the one to go with if you have the choice. Xbox 360 owners should just stick with Tiger Woods 07. Aug. 2007 - Also PS3, PS2, PC, PSP, GC, XboxGamespot 8.5 - Madden 08 seems to represent a tipping point of sorts for the series. You feel like the game is right on the brink of getting back to where it was four or five years ago in terms of stature and innovation. Jul. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2IGN 5.0 - NASCAR 08 is bare-bones, unpolished and uninspired. When you don't even have any sort of ending wrap-up screen for the Season mode, you know you're in trouble. Jul. 2007 - Also on PS3, PS2, XboxGamespot 8.0 - The in-game presentation doesn't have much of a college football feel to it, and the amount of turnovers will likely frustrate many hardcore fans. But even with these issues, NCAA Football 08 is a great game and another step in the right direction for the franchise. Mar. 2007 - Also on PS2, PC, PSPGamespot 7.6 - Even if you don't have experience with card-based games and don't possess a great deal of knowledge about individual players, if you're a soccer fan who's looking for something different, UEFA Champions League is a worthwhile purchase. Jan. 2007 - Also on PS2Gamespot 6.7 - March Madness 07 isn't a bad game, but it clearly could have used more time in development. The players and the courts look great, but you can only admire the graphics for so long before you realize they're hiding some pretty mediocre gameplay. Oct. 2006 - Also PS2, XB, GC, PC, PSP, DS, GBAIGN 6.8 - The potential is there, but a host of gameplay problems and lack of teams make FIFA 07 feel like an unfinished product. EA does do a great job with ball physics and especially player momentum, but passing and shooting are nowhere near as tight as Winning Eleven or even current-gen FIFA. Oct. 2006 - Also on PS2, PS3, Xbox, PC, Wii, PSPGamespot 8.2 - Tiger 07 is a great game, and the improvement in the last 11 months shows that that EA isn't content to maintain the status quo. If you're searching for a great round of video game golf, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is what you're looking for. Sep. 2006 - Also on PS2, Xbox, PC, PSPGamespot 6.5 - NBA Live 07 isn't a bad game, but it is disappointing. Live 06 had many of the pieces needed to make a great basketball game, but rather than improving those specific pieces, EA added more parts and didn't make any of the old stuff much better. Sep. 2006 - Also on PS2, Xbox, PC, PSPGamespot 8.2 - ... the fact that EA's first hockey title for the 360, released more than a year after the console's launch, would be so stripped down is disappointing. But even with that, you can't help but go back to the skill stick--and what a phenomenal addition it is for hockey console gaming. Aug. 2006 - Also on PS2, PS3, Xbox, GC, PC, WiiPortable version on PSP, DS, GBA Gamespot 7.9 - There's no denying that Madden NFL 07 comes up short on delivering all the improvements one would hope for after last year's disappointing debut on the 360. However, it does at least push the series in the right direction. Jul. 2006 - Also on PS2, Xbox, PSPIGN 7.5 - Yes, the game looks, sounds and plays well, but there is a noticeable lack of polish and a painful lack of depth. If EA ironed out the graphical glitches and framerate and if EA included the awesome Campus Legend mode, this could have been a great game. Apr. 2006 - Also PS2, XB, PC, GC, DS, PSP, GBAGamespot 8.2 - If you're in the market for a World Cup game or simply for an Xbox 360 football game that doesn't suck, 2006 FIFA World Cup is the way to go. Feb. 2006 - Also on PS3, PS2, Xbox, PSPGamespot 8.3 - The gameplay remains as tight and enjoyable as it has always been, and while there are no surprises in store, you can expect a great game of boxing, with a fully capable single-player experience backing up an excellent online multiplayer game. Nov. 2005 - Also on PS2, Xbox, GC, PC, PSPGamespot 6.4 - First impressions count for a lot, and NBA Live 06 certainly delivers in that regard. However, while the game looks next-gen at times, it doesn't play like it. Nov. 2005Released as FIFA 06 on PS2, Xbox, GC, PC Portable versions on PSP, DS, GBA Gamespot 6.0 - FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup is inferior to this year's earlier older-generation FIFA 06 game in almost every way, and it's not a particularly good soccer game in its own right either. Nov. 2005 - Also on PS2, Xbox, GC, PC, PSPGamespot 7.8 - In the end, many consumers will judge Tiger 06 by what it lacks--courses, game modes, and extras--and these are fair criticisms. What it doesn't lack, however, is challenge. Nov. 2005 - Also PS2, XB, GC, PC, PSP, DS, GBAGamespot 7.4 - Pretty graphics are great to have and all, but everything else about Madden on the 360 feels like a step backward--and one that makes its higher price tag very difficult to justify. That leaves us with a game that just doesn't compare to what Madden has been in recent years. Comments
