1. The Wrestler (2008)

An absolutely unexpected surprise.

2. Requiem for a Dream (2000)

Superb movie, powerful art, touches the heart and our deeper emotions. So good I shan't watch it again.

Great thriller, Natalie you were fantastic. However I went with excessive hype, felt disappointed for not being the masterpiece I thought it would be (thanks everyone...)

You clearly notice Aronofsky's touch in this early and very interesting and intelligent thriller.

5. The Fountain (2006)

A great love and deep story, but it has a little bit more of symbolism than the dose I can tolerate in my movies, because it distracts me from the "script" and acting. I would have very much preferred this type of movie animated.

The man has yet to make anything but great films. I hope his streak doesn't end with the Wolverine movie. Probably my favorite living director.

I second what Redmist said, just with the addition of Nolan and Coppola.

Great list! The Wrestler is my favorite the he made and in my top five of all time. It used to be my number one, and it still may be. I'm sort of in a grace period right now, because I sort have no favorite film. Anyways, great list.
