Description

The 100 best films of the 20th century chosen by the noted film critic of The Guardian, Derek Malcolm (b. 1932). The list is in chronological order. It is based on the series of articles on his favorite films which Malcolm wrote at the end of his decades-long career as a critic. All the articles are found here: http://film.guardian.co.uk/Century_Of_Films/Front/0,,30401,00.html The only film missing from the list is the tv film The Taking of Power by Louis XIV (Roberto Rossellini, 1966).
